With respect I have explained the context behind the decision which is common-practice in similar circumstances.NO pre-judgement or any culpability when he was stood-down from officiating.I have nothing further to add.

I wrote a longer reply, but to keep it simple, their keeper didn't have to make one difficult save. He had one shot that went straight at him with limited pace from Olise and one from Doucoure which he dived comfortably to save. I think even my mum could have saved those two. All the other chances were scrappy and not clear. Personally I thought we were ok in the first half and lost direction in the second when Spurs shut up shop.

I really like Roy but echoes of his previous reign were on show yesterday. With no pressure on the game it took him until the 85th minute to bring on a striker and he replaced Schlupp (who scores) with Hughes (who doesn't).

Are you sure you watched it, Hughes replaced Schlupp in the 74th min, Edouard replaced Ayew in the 84th.

A Spurs season ticket holder got on our train to Brighton. He thought that two people made the difference for them on the day. Harry Kane and the referee.

My thoughts were that for the first time since Roy's return, we were playing a top level team. And we came up short. Spurs players play acting was frustrating and embarrassing but it ensured we were rarely able to sustain any momentum to our play. Aided and abetted by the officials that were taken in by it.

I also didn't think that Zaha looked 100% fit.

Ok, you're being pedantic. I presume you think think that extra minute means Roy acted quickly! Sorry if I confused you by lumping the Schlupp sub on the end of my sentence.

Seriously though, did you watch the game? It was the sort of performance that had it been under Vieira you would be ripping your shirt off and running through the streets declaring the sky is falling. Personally, like many of Vieira's games against the big teams after Christmas, I thought we passed the ball ok, looked defensively organised, but seemed to lack ideas up top. Hopefully it was a blip and we'll get our bounce back for the final three games.

Invariably, supporters have a proclivity to only lacerate officials when their team has been defeated, a victory and not a murmur of discontent.

Nonsense, I have been very vocal in my condemnation of the referees this season, win lose or draw. The standard is appalling and that, excuse of a ref yesterday is one of the worst. For the massive “business” that is the PL the standard is ridiculously poor. We know you will never criticise refs whatever the standard

Is that the same drawer as “cheating”? 3 posts ago was going to be your last contribution to the thread. About as reliable as the Offucials yesterday

I really hope they adopt the world cup added on minutes next season. Would cut out all the play acting and time wasting.

We did play ok, but considering Spurs have been awful of late and hadn't kept a clean sheet since February we all maybe expected a bit more. My comment about it not being 50/50 was perhaps a bit misleading, what I meant was that Spurs carved out the clearest chances and took them. Our chances were really half chances. The stats back this up with Palace having an XG (expected goals) of 0.3 and Spuds having 1.1. If it had ended a draw I don't think anyone would have argued it would have been a fair result, but based on the type of chances Spurs created they had just had enough to edge it. Let's call it 55/45!

I'd bet that 0.8 of Spurs' 1.1 XG was Son running in alone on Johnstone. Throw that out, and they did absolutely nothing.

They are a one trick pony, using Kane and Son to score on counters. That's it. Unfortunately, we fell for it yet again.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

With respect, I asserted that it was going to be my final contribution on this thread on the subject of referees as I could envisage the debate descending into one of those dastardly 'Willo Threads'.

In relation what you infer as "Cheating", all teams engage in 'Game Management' when they deem it will benefit them.

But then most teams do, otherwise Kane wouldn't have the 26 league goals he does have this season (I know 3 of them against us).
