A draw would be good enough for us. A very demanding day for any referee. The fans will be loud. We are a better team, on paper. But even ManCity took a while to score the first goal against the Saints. Man C scored their opening goal at Southampton on the stroke of half-time. Southampton have scored in 4 of their last 5 home games in the PL and I have a hunch that they will open the scoring. Edited by Willo (14 Apr 2023 11.41pm)

I fear they'll score first, we'll equalize early in the 2nd half, but in their desperation they'll score after the 80th minute. We play hard, but not precisely enough, and go down 1-2.

Losing to the bottom team would be a significant disappointment, and the positivity about our survival chances after last week's stupendous win at Leeds could dissipate if other results do not go in our favour.

Or we could just give them a comfortable thumping 0-2 or 1-3!

Yes, a thoroughly commanding performance is required from Palace with no way back for Southampton as early as possible in the game. All of our opponents (except Spurs who are not in the relegation battle) will view us as 3 point donors. The teams below us are there for a reason let's show them why.

It's a great challenge for both clubs, but we have the massivly experienced Roy and Ray, with another week's coaching to work with our team? Our confidence is getting higher, and their's lower. The odds do point towards a Palace win, but there's no such thing as a certainty in foitball

Let's hope we don't have a repeat of the Forest performance earlier on in the season. They were bottom of the league and we had just had a good win away at the Hammers the previous week. If we put in a shift earlier in this game then I think we will come away with something, 0-1 half time, 1-2 full. COYP !!

if it was at Selhurst, i would expect us to thrash them with the Sally-Rods. but St Mary's will be a tough place to go. 0-0

Roy 's reputation for winning against sides lower down the table is good and Palace's team have remided themselves how good they can be. So long as we remember it's still a six-pointer relegation scrap I expect us to win iif narrowly. 1-2. I also confidently predict the first Southampton Palace game for a while without Ward-Prose - Zaha handbagging.

At the time of the season when we still are in the relegation battle, 1 p against a team in same situation good enough for me.
