Do you think Ahamada was what was needed in the last window,

No. Vieira asked for experience

Its just so obvious to me he is hopeless in all aspects of being a manager, i take no pleasure from our pathetic performances, but it is becoming hard to watch the lack of commitment, i have a sponge tennis ball i through at the screen, in the bar, or at home, when Vieira comes on screen, my psychiatrist recommended it.

I’m starting to wish we still had Benteke, which sums it up. Time to see a psychiatrist

Indeed he asserted that the squad needed experience.

We did sign Sambi-Lokonga who had played over 100 games, for Anderlecht and Arsenal, but Ahamada is very inexperienced playing only 25 games for Stuttgart.

I still believe we will stay up but I am fed up watching this awful football week in and out. I’l happily see PV replaced at the end of the season. He has had more than enough time now to implement his ideas but we are woeful in most departments.

That's beyond what a psychiatrist can help you with.

When results are dire, the manager 'Carries the can' despite there often being extenuating circumstances.

When I analyse our squad, we have 2 full backs in Ward and Clyne with a combined age of 64, a left-back who has not progressed at all and appears to have regressed and there being no natural cover in that position.None of our full-backs provide an attacking threat, thereby giving our team a different dimension.

In midfield, Milivojevic and Riedewald are clearly not the answer and McArthur is 35 and has only just returned from injury.Eze is a 'Luxury player' who is talented but flatters to deceive and his work out of possession has been criticised.

Our recognised strikers are Mateta, Ayew and Edouard, the less said about their goal records the better. In terms of Eduoard, it was reported that thee were issues with his work rate when he was at Celtic.Plange was bought but has hardly played for Lincoln this season and the same applies to Ebiowei at Hull.

Of course the manager faces shot and shell when results are abject and I suppose one could pose the questions :

1. Is he getting the best out of the squad ?
2. Are his team selections, tactics and use of substitutes worthy of praise ?
3. Could a new manager invigorate the squad and engineer a revival ?
4. Whom realistically could we attract ? Tuchel ?, Bielsa ?, Zidane ?, Gattuso ? Perhaps Gerrard, Lampard, Marsch, Bruce would be interested - their appointment would gain the approval of supporters !!!!

I suspect as far as the supporters are concerned the answers would be : 1 - NO, 2 - NO, 3 - YES.

As i have said it isnt time to appoint a new manager until the end of the season, but Freedman, Derry and Paddy will get the most out of what we have. i wouldnt want to go in at full time not giving 100% and face Paddy or Derry.

To be honest doesn’t this just prove anything? Benteke was our scapegoat but maybe it is literally we cannot create anything for a striker because we have been in this position of not having a goal scored since glen murray

The manager has to ultimately set up the team in the best possible way to get the best result possible. Our selection and tactics aren't good enough - despite it not being a great squad. More could be done with the players we do have. They could be used better. I'm firmly fed up with some of our ridiculous set ups and line ups.

I think Vieira is still surviving because of our early season form and the six point gap it has afforded us.

That could all change if we lose to a side below us. Then his position will be in danger given our lack of wins and goals.

The problem is that a number of players came to Palace because of what we can call the Vieira effect.
If he is sacked, it will have a rather unpredictable effect on the squad.

The other big questions of course are who we would appoint in his place at this stage of the season, and if it would make any difference to our lack of goals.

Patrick Vieira will be our manager for the foreseeable future and all supporters who have a yearning to see him relieved of his duties forthwith are going to be disappointed.

Should Vieira depart at some stage, it is likely that there will be a stop-gap appointment until the end of the season.

Managers are based on results. More bad results = sack. It's just the way it is, it isn't personal.
