Amazing how much this team has deteriorated from last season. Looks like PV doesn't have the answers, in fact he's been extremely fortunate in a number of games this season. We're due a tonking if the game plan carries on like this.

I said to my boy earlier that Im certain we will get dicked 8/9-0 before the season is out.

How does a team with 75% possession commit more fouls?

Look at the stats for the whole match 25/75% we are just falling apart, set up every game to just hang on for a point,it is mind numbing, the whole team needs a dam good shake up,or we are down!!

Over exuberance in their desire to win the ball back quickly and dictate the game?

I'd guess it's a side effect of trying to implement their strategy. I'm not sure what our strategy is.

Very disappointing. We were a shambles. Start to finish.

Another lucky result. The Gods must really hate Brighton!

I thought there was a lot of heart in today's performance but very little quality. I struggled to see what our tactics were other than to hit it long and hope one of our useless strikers would do something with it. I've stuck up for Vieira, but he needs a big performance from his team as we can't keep getting lucky. Lately we've resembled a poor-man's Royball team. Thankfully for us Sanchez had fallen asleep due to lack of action.

On the positive side it was nice to see Tommo score and I thought he did ok.

Or more streetwise?
Our strategy is to not hit teams on the break by not making any breaks.

That team are flying and yet we won a point. It has been the same for years; and yet we were not relegated in any of those seasons. Calm the f*** down.

That is one of the most fortunate points I’ve ever seen. 12% possession at home. We weren’t playing Real Madrid in their pomp, it was Brighton ffs. If we showed signs of having some sort of plan I wouldn’t be worried, but we don’t and we are getting worse rather than better. Virtually every player looks like they have had all confidence kicked out of them. It’s a really hard watch.

The team looks disjointed generally and especially lacking in cohesive forward play. That of course reflects poorly on the manager and coaches, but in fairness they can't polish a turd. Our forwards aren't good enough in any aspect of the game, but they are especially bad at the things that give a team attacking fluidity: movement, one and two touch play, rotation etc.

People will say that the club should have invested more in better forwards but there is only so much money in the pot to begin with, and certainly a limit on spending due to FFP. Everyone wants a forward, and I'm not sure very many teams in our part of the table have a much better record than us when it comes to finding one. Us getting stuck with Ayew, Mateta and Edouard is a problem, but not necessarily one resulting from negligence.

We have to see the season through and see what we can do in the summer. Rak-Sahki scored again today, perhaps he'll make the break through next season with us, but we need better luck with strikers than we've had over the last decade if we are to move positively into the future without Zaha.

The overall stats resemble the worst of Hodgson's time as manager, low possession, shots on goal etc. We haven't progressed at all. Last season we were obviously carried by Gallagher, and PV doesn't know how to get a tune from a bunch of second rate lazy overpaid gravy train riding cnuts, he himself believing that the tika taka passing game he is familiar with will work with the likes of Jeff Schlupp, Mateta, Ayew et al.
