If we beat Forrest before the international break, I think with stored momentum we could achieve 7th at end of season.

One or two canny signings in January should make this very realistic.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Talk about glass half empty our rivals are Brighton, Fulham, Brentford, Villa, Leicester and probably West Ham to finish 8th..!! Can’t see us breaking into the top 7 at this point.

But Southampton, Everton and Forest - really - they’ll be scrapping it out in the bottom 6 - which we won’t be anywhere near..!!

If we have a good window can seriously us finishing 8th..!!

Come on PV and COYP

I think you misread my post. I was referring to transfer rivals and as you pointed out they are below us so hopefully any targets will prefer to come to Palace who are on the up rather than Southampton, Everton and Forest.

But the ref's decision was called out by VAR and he consequently reversed it. Surely that is the most common outcome with VAR.

Oh did he give the penalty? I was watching a stream with Arabic commentary, so didn't really have much idea what was going on

To finish 7th we'd have to finish ahead of Liverpool and/or Newcastle.

I love the optimism, but....

The importance of Doucoure when he plays Palace look so much better. He is Kante for Palace.

Wish Downes had come to us. They looked a lot better when he came on. We got the winner probably against the run of play which to be fair was the only dominant period for the Spam during the game. I think he would have been a good partner for Doucoure.

Overall we deserved the win though for our 75 of 90 minute dominance.

Never mind Willo, I got it wrong too!

A good opportunity for me to ask someone to explain how the xG stats work please.

I'm no expert but I believe each shot on target is given a percentage chance of making a goal based on history, location, shape, etc. Then all of those chances are added up for a total xG per team. Basically, a decent metric of the quality of chances created vs. conceded.

Love Wardy, but Clyne gives us so much more at right back.

Schlupp and Doucoure good pairing today in midfield.

Downes made a difference for them in midfield when he came on, but I am at an absolute loss to see where the £180m they spent in the summer has gone! Bang average if you ask me.

Still the worst away ground in the Premier League. God knows how their season ticket holders put up with that nonsense every other week. Killed the football club, I used to enjoy going to Upton Park, but everything about the whole experience is bad. Totally sterile. Hope Palace never move to an entertainment complex on a greenfield site.

Suffice to say erring in terms of predictions etc etc is par for the course for me.
