Didn't see that but got a chuckle over the three Southampton boys in their 20s behind me approaching the station who were heard to say: "Well. That was a waste of a trip. Now we have to spend two to three hours getting back to our s***hole of a town." Can’t be worse than Thornton Heath!!

Got back very late from the game last night so have only now read (most of) the comments on this thread. Some thoughts: Edited by doombear (30 Oct 2022 10.18am) Agree with all of this. I know it sounds obvious, but games will ebb and flow and we need to capitalise when we are on top, and keep it tight when we are not. We are nowhere near clinical enough at the moment, and silly mistakes could have cost us. But we're making strides. I reckon Vieria is also learning a bit too. Finishing the game with 3 CM's, shows that he is willing to be adaptable.

Tbh Southampton is that s*** hole they were speaking about. Worked, been footy and drank there. They are spot on I recall the area around The Dell (or not that far away and quite near the old county cricket ground) being quite "leafy".

Its tough seeing your team lose anytime, especially if you have taken time & paid good money to travel to an away fixture. Originally posted by FrankieD108
Indeed I was! As we all know, seeing your club lose brings out the frustration!

I didn't get to that one, but my recollection of The Dell is based on the 3-2 win when Richard Shaw scored an own-goal in the opening seconds and then the League Cup tie a few days later where we were "typical Palace" ie "after the Lord Mayor's Show". If I recall correctly, the League Cup tie was the first men's match between members of the first 4 divisions to have a female line-o, but I haven't checked my facts before posting.
