You'd think the broadcasters and the cricket authorities could agree to a one-hour highlights show on network TV to maintain interest in the sport - killing the goose what lays the golden eggs, real shame they are so short sighted. Indeed. I always remember terrestrial coverage of test cricket ceased after the marvellous summer Ashes series of 2005, just when the public were beginning to take an interest in the game.

Our media hasn't been showing how much pakistani cricket is in turmoil. A lot going on behind the scenes and certain divides amongst the squad. A few teams have current problems, including Australia - the ball tampering scandal still rolls on. Yup this has been going on for many years. I remember a pakistani work colleague explaining the ins and outs 20 years ago, simply put the best players do not always get picked due to regional politics.

pakistan, in the middle of a natural disaster and with its internal troubles, was a revelation and everyone was totally impressed by the welcome they received. Another tour is scheduled in 2 years after this it will be eagerly awaited.

I remember being overseas watching the test series around that time, we had Orbit as our provider, they were based in Cyprus I think (they eventually got bought out by Sky) so watching the test match Wed & Thursday, on the Friday as things got interesting & I was home so could spend most of the day watching it if I wanted to (Middle East weekend) & the service provider suddenly announced that they had introduced a special sports channel that you had to pay extra for & the test series was one of the events that would be shown on this special sports channel - I was not impressed I can tell you, I was on the phone to Cyprus giving them sh!! about it, my phone call probably cost more than a months subscription to this special sports channel but it was the principle of the thing- Originally posted by Pete53

There often is a highlights show on Channel 5 and if there hasn't been this time it's a shame as cricket fans without Sky will have missed the most exciting test series for many a year It is a shame that there isn’t coverage of some sort on terrestrial TV.

This series has not been going to plan. A lot of players missing and some returning.

Stunning Stuart Broad this morning, it's not since Fred Truman in the sixties has an Englishman bowled the three openers out. Might do a late nighter to watch the outcome tonight!!
