I've just had a "like" from John Textor to a comment I made on the official Palace Facebook page.

I am unconvinced Textor is a particularly wealthy individual. I have a hunch he's done a lot with a lot of leverage. Him pressing to buy may be him taking a large risk appetite and we are saddled big time if it goes wrong. If Harris and Blitzer wanted to spend, I would feel more at ease. If Parish, who is also a minnow Vs other PL owners, feels the risks are not worth taking, then, painful as it is, I think I'd rather we were cautious. We do need a simpler ownership structure and a more straightforward decision making process. And some bunce.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

He's in South America at the moment trying to sign a player for his new club Lyon. Can't remember the player's name but SSN said he favours a move to EPL. If true he can convince hin to go Palace instead.

Almost every player in the world would say they favour a move to the Premier League because at the moment that's where most of the biggest pay checks are unless you happen to play for PSG Originally posted by eritheagle

A bit of research and you'd easily establish your hunch as a well-known fact. Of course, by your standards and mine (well, I assume you're not a multi millionaire - I'm certainly not) Textor is wealthy, but by PL owner standards he's comfortably towards the bottom of the pack. But he allies his own money to that of other investors who he brings into his Eagle Football group and that's where the leverage comes from. If Textor buys Palace from Harris & Bliter, we'll be investor-group owned, just like Chelsea and Bournemouth. Textor's investors, however, are unlikely to have the deep pockets Chelsea's do. What you could argue is that Textor is more ambitious on the football side than Harris & Blitzer and has more of an appetite to speculate in pursuit of success on the pitch. Sometimes that's a good thing but if we're honest, sometimes it isn't.

Eagle Football, this year, is planning on taking Lyon public via a SPAC (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/spac.asp) merger. Paid 800M for Lyon and looking for a 1.2B valuation for the offering. The question now would become is whether this is Textor's investors' 'take the money and run' exit strategy from EF, or do they take the money and turn inwards and reinvest into Eagle Football. Thanks for the link. According to the information available online so far, it is Eagle Football that will be looking to go public via a SPAC not just Lyon. This is not good news for Palace, not good news at all. SPACS in their short history as flotation vehicles do not have good track records. Textor has now shown his colours and this is not good. At this stage Eagle Football only have a minority share in Palace. Hopefully our other shareholders will not sell out to them but who knows. Foley, new owner at Bournemouth has got a very dubious record with SPACs. He took Paysafe public via a SPAC that has subsequently tanked. He secured massive fees for his services. Apparently, he too is looking to do something similar with his growing collection of sports clubs. Textor was or is part of Fubo, another American public company that has tanked in value. Looks like we are caught up in something that does not bode well at all. Im sure more detail will be revealed soon.
