You have to understand that at St James' Park the away fans are about half a mile away from the pitch! Had the TV bought their long range wildlife cameras perhaps they could have caught the Palace faithful doing their thing. Was CG taken off as he had a yellow and was having one of those next-stop-red games? Fantastic player but discipline not his strong suit. See my earlier post re Eddie Howe's tactics.

Similar to the Leicester game, we could have got a draw from the Newcastle game. Very very correct, it is actually ruining a very good open game of football, where all fans can actually enjoy watching goals being scored, Chelsea are quite possibly the worst at this and they played this card against us especially in the first half where we competed well with them ..and in the half where they tried to fool the officials with a blatant dive for a penalty due to their frustration and the same was again last night when we were clearly on top and they were struggling and the nasty fouls appeared with more and regularity to stop us, Zaha, Ayew and Eze are brought down for a reason and it works because the officiating allows it. Football needs the sinbin.

Why are we playing in slow slow-motion most of the time? We improved when Macca and Mateta came on, unfortunately Schlupp with his strolling around and safe, sideways/backwards passing stayed on. And please, please stop that dicking around with defensive passing in defence. Even with three minutes remaining and we're 0-1 down, we aree doing it. He blows much more cold than hot. Far too many games where he is practically anonymous, Sunday, by the sounds of it last night recently, and previous games such as Leeds away spring too mind. As mentioned Banks would be a better bet in these last games of the season. Generally surprised with a fairly attacking line up we could only muster 1 shot in the first half. Sounds like the midfield/wing backs weren't getting involved and we were too slow in coming out of defence ? If so, need to work on an outlet for the goalie/defenders to get us going forward as long kicks just get gobbled up by the opposition. Need to be much more switched on in this area.

With VAR it is very easy to determine whether a player is attempting to get the ball or get the player, when players eventually get the message football will be far more entertaining for all with the inclusion of the sinbin, rules after need to include that no subs are allowed to rescue offending clubs position on the field of play. We will never know the amount of opportunities we could have achieved last night if the opposition hadn't resulted to basically cheating and I know this applies to us as well.

This awful crap about Schlupp needs to stop, he has been magnificent for our club. The same for Ayew. Edited by Tickled pink (21 Apr 2022 10.19am)

You only have to watch Atletico's performances in the CL to see what lengths some are prepared to go to in order to win a game of football via any other means than actually playing football. I watched their game vs. Citeh the other day and remember feeling somewhat duped into what I believed I had chosen to invest time in. It's extremely detrimental to the game and I do not see what pleasure any genuine football fan would get out of it. Perpetrators know what they are doing, fans/spectators know what they are doing, the ref knows what they are doing however the codification of the rules allows them to get away with it. Needs to be amended proportionately.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

He now has 9 yellows this season in the EPL. Thankfully we, as a club, have now played 32 games which is the cut-off amount for 10 yellows & a 2 game ban.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
