Does anyone have any sympathy for Burnley?

Small club did well for years with an ageing squad and questionable tactics - reminds me of Palace under Roy!

Now they have 9 players out of contract - 8 of which are over 30. The only decent one is James Tarkowski who will clearly go to a West Ham or Newcastle on a free.

The 2 decent players they have a Comet (who supposedly has a release clause) and McNeil who's had a poor season.

Supposedly they also have to pay back a massive loan.

Not looking good.

In terms of Everton in addition to FFS, what happened to a ban for Richarlison after throwing the flare into the crowd? Surely based on previous ones for Carragher etc that's a definite suspension??
Very strange.
Similarly the behaviour to their supporters - fireworks outside hotels etc - reminds me of the antics before the Wimbledon game about 20 years ago (when Segers surely took a bung to throw the game??). No reporters have mentioned this. As for the pitch invasions - both the club and the FA has been silent.

Not especially...but....the way the finances were structured that enabled their recent takeover is going to leave that club in dire straights. And here I call the EPL's compliance in respect of club ownership into question yet again.

I have no confidence in the footballing authorities - that's the FA, EPL and EFL. The argument for an Independent Regulator, with no conflicts of interest, is becoming more compelling. Those aforementioned authorities cannot be trusted as often the issues - such as the administration of FFP - are of their own making. Which in turn leads to nothing tangible being done.

Man City still under investigation that is now in its third year. Chelsea being able to ' borrow ' £1.5b, Everton surely in breach of the FFP rules.

Do you trust the EPL to do the right thing ?

Nick Pope, Weghorst and Brownhill would also likely command decent fees, but that really is about it. They certainly don't have a £40/50m player in their squad they can sell to balance the books. I think of those three Pope will go. He's a very good keeper and Everton and Newcastle might have a look at him. Cornet has been good in patches, but he has not been consistent. McNeil is a great player in the wrong team and I'd be surprised if someone doesn't try and strike a deal.

The rest of the squad looks like an average Championship one.
