Don't understand negativity on here .Pat made changes we were pretty comfortable against a team in form .Personally I see a team/squad improving every game .Yes still issues but he made changes and ee still looked comfortable and probably should have had 3 points but still enjoying watching. Patrick's team progressing

I thought we were the better team but for the 20 minute spell after half-time. Despite not scoring I also think that was Wilf's best game in ages. I don't remember him losing the ball much, he beat his man often and created chances for himself and others. My MOTM. I also thought Clyne had a good game, although I can't think of anyone who was that bad. Andersen's passing went astray second half, but overall the defence managed Burnley's attack really well. A point does more for us than it does Burnley, but it's a shame not to take three as I think we just about deserved them. Ye that'd pretty much be my summary. I raised an eyebrow when I saw the lineup up but we dominated them first half so I can't complain. It's just a shame we didn't get the second goal in the first 45. The unfortunate way we conceded was annoying and clearly rocked us for 20 mins or so. Burnley started doing what they do best and lumped it into areas which unsettled Andersen. Still we created enough to win it but a point isn't too bad overall. Hopefully a positive result to come in the FA Cup this week and we could still have some exciting times ahead.

In fairness the tactics worked in thr first half, but we just didn't get the second goal despite dominating.

After a comfortable 1st. half and conceding an unfortunate equalizer we struggled to assert any real pressure on Burnley. It showed in midfield where Burnley's press nullified any ball movement we initiated. A bit disappointed in Andersen today, some of his touches/passing was sub standard for this league and put us under unnecessary pressure. I just get the feeling we shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes as these are the games we should be winning (comfortably) and yet another 2 points coughed up !

Agree, it should in midfield. His gamble failed. Hughes and Kouyate should have started. If the officials hadn't allowed Burnley to continuously foul us from the kick off our line up today would've easily won this game.

No such thing as a comfortable game against Burnley, you obviously don't watch them.

2 days between Watford game and today. Some players need longer than others to recover. Doubt either Hughes or Macca have the legs to play in both. This is why you have a squad. Hughes is 26. Why wouldn’t he have the legs to play today?

I saw some lovely football from us today, their goal was pure luck and totally against the run of play up to that point, obviously it gave them hope and it showed but they were not a patch on our superior passing and movement, good overall performance against a very difficult team to break down ...I thought anyway.

I always seem to hold a bit of arrogance when we play Burnley. I can't help of just thinking of them as a 5h!t footballing team, from some misery up north playing off a shoe string budget with the same line up they had 5 years ago, which I would still struggle to name. Never bodes too well and a recipe for consistent disappointment and resultant disillusionment with the world. Having said that, we did only play a couple days or so ago, they are a potential banana skin and we are still in transition to a certain extent. Would also point out that Norwich look 'ddomed', Watford need some miracles in the remaining games, Newcastle still dubious, Brentford looking bleak, Everton in disarray and should by all logic get hammered by City this afternoon and finally Leeds, Leeds have shipped between 4 and 5,000 goals in their last few games and struggle to see what answers they'll be able to conjure up to arrest their plummet. We are 11th in the table, two places above Leicester, have a more youthful looking side now, a coach I am inclined to believe in and the future certainly looks more optimistic than seasons past. I'd suggest we enjoy the battle within mid-table obscurity as we look far more likely to be involved in that then a relegation scrap. We've been through far worse seasons past. Wished for 3 points, got 1, still in the Cup, mid-table, good players, good manager and weather set to improve! I suggest those of us that still have some keep our hair on, times are tough in Europe but COVID is on the decline and weather semmingly on the up as we approach summer. Never like to see infighting so please don't get too caught up in that, stay safe, stay happy and stay PALACE!! - EEEEEEEEEaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggllllllllleeeeeeeessssssssssssss!!!!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
