Ayew should only come off the bench late in a match when we are winning. He's a defensive sub, that's it. Or, you can start him in matches where you have no intention of ever scoring a goal. Schlupp should only come off the bench late in a match when we are losing, and we have no other possible options on the bench. He usually makes one run per appearance, then you never see him again. Benteke should only start when you've given up trying to pass the ball, and you just want to hoof the ball up to him and hope for a lucky bounce to Wilf. The past 2 weeks, PV has bemoaned our lack of finishing, then he starts Ayew, Schlupp, and Benteke. Benteke does nothing, Ayew misses a sitter, and Schlupp passively watches Fred boot in the winning goal right past him. Yes, JMac and Andersen are good players, but we shouldn't look this sh-t. Our bench today was stronger than our starting lineup. It's safe to say that PV has started to lose the plot. Today looked exactly like Royball. Negative lineup, negative football. So what would you have written if Ayew's attempt hadn't just missed but gone in I wonder, it would've altered what happened after and we may have actually won the game, We lost to Villa by one goal a little undeservedly and then did the same away to Leeds, some games are tough and some fans need to get a grip.

[quote=Den1923;3680536] Let us not forget that CG could not save WBA or Fulham from the drop and I expect that will also apply to us! hardly surprising. He’s never played for Fulham!!

We really miss Anderson. Makes playing out from the back very difficult. McArthur is also a big miss. Ayew is essential when we are defending against much better sides like United. The big test will be when we have players away for Africa nations cup soon (zaha, schlupp, ayew? Kouyate). But good news is that will be an opp for olise Eze and others to start 🥳

Plan B is urgently required. Don’t ask me what that is. I know we are missing Jimmy and Anderson badly but we have Eze Olise Edouard to name others all ready.

If Burnley win their game in hand then we are 3 points above the drop zone albeit with a better goal difference. Edited by The Dolphin (05 Dec 2021 6.00pm)

But Ayew didn't score, as he hasn't supposedly in around the last 30 odd games.

I think Ayew may have been offside even if he had scored.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

We miss them but it's more than that. We have been worked out, as we always would be. We are being pressed before we can press. Gallagher has been recognised as our main creative player and the link we always look for and he is being given no time and crowded out. This is now a real challenge for our management team. We weren't just second best today, we were third or fourth best. The ref and the crowd played better and we were lucky to get 0 goals the lack of belief we showed. As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with you, although we should be fitting Eze into the team who will put a foot on it and lift his head, something Kouyate struggles with.

Wilf and Benteke are history. They need to be dropped, because they are not playing for the team. They are playing for themselves. Ayew is partially guilty of this too.

Kouyaté. I love him, and he loves Palace. But he is playing Royball. Can PV teach him to turn with the ball and look to play it forwards? If not, he has to go too.
