It's not fact because you have absolutely zero evidence to back it up.

Can't be arsed to find evidence but it's common knowledge that the public sector (i.e. police force / fire brigade) recruit based on race/gender/sexuality ahead of suitability for the role.

I was with a mate on the weekend who told me it's his dream to be a fireman and has had his application rejected 8 years in a row. He is a white, heterosexual male, who is a lovely bloke and as fit as a fiddle...

On his 7th attempt a mate of his applied with him who happens to be British/African and has a double barrelled surname, but uses his English surname. Both applications were rejected.

The following year, they both applied, but this time his mate used his African surname. Guess what? - he's now a fireman.

This was the final straw for my mate who has given up on his dream. He describes his African/British friend as being 'overweight and unfit, so can't fit through small gaps like I could'.

This stuff happens and is real. Positive discrimination is racist, bad for society and in this example dangerous when you have the wrong person in a lifesaving job. You must recognise this is a problem?

99% of people couldn't give a toss what their beliefs/sexuality/race is as long they are the best candidate to do the job.

I doubt it's going to impact your life one way or another. Maybe point me to the thread you supposedly didn't write it on and I will re read it and respond accordingly.

This should of course come bundled with the awareness that if someone was on here saying that their black mate hadn't been promoted in 8 years and it was definitely due to his race, they'd have got laughed off here. Two sides of the same coin.

Anyway, so whens this report coming out?
