Highly unlikely we’ll need another lockdown. Increasingly the data is showing this one is unnecessary. R is trending down and this is nothing to do with lockdown as we need to wait 23 days to see the impact of that.

Excess deaths are low, herd is being reached, covid is going away. If it was politically acceptable I believe the data supports cancelling this second lockdown now. Of course, it will not happen.

I am of course no soothsayer but my miniscule cerebral capability foresees a scenario whereby lockdown restrictions are eased prior to the Christmas period resulting in a 'Spike' of infections and 'Lockdown 3' is introduced in the early part of the year which traditionally is a quieter period for the hospitality and retail sectors.

For those of you wondering what our esteemed Willo looks like that's him top left on our last Zoom call.

Pip pip!

Is this what they call left wing humour? Mix a bit of agism, sprinkle in a bit of anti white.....oh look I've made a funny.

I had to check I hadn't broken a rib through all the laughing I hadn't done.

Still, if it makes you happy.

What hospitality sector? The way it is going there will not be one to go back to.

The cynical side of me says the current lockdown was introduced whilst numbers were already waning so that ‘miraculously’ the Government are able to say they did the right thing with lockdown when it ends.

At the end of the day Cummings is an accomplished campaigner with the ability to analyze opponents' weaknesses and is combative and tireless in exposing them.

Without his inspired leadership of 'Vote Leave' it is the model of plausibility that Brexit would not have got over the line and as a Brexiteer I applaud his efforts.

He was also hugely important to my party during the election campaign, understanding how to appeal to disenchanted Labour voters and many will conclude that the 'Red Wall' is his creation.

Cummings has been exceedingly important to the Government and his departure will create a political vacuum. Some will include that the often sidelined Cabinet should fill it.I envisage a reshuffle in the not too distant future.

Of course. It’s happened before. Masks made compulsory. Manchester theatre over tier 3 after 5 days of positive tests falling. Those aren’t the only ones. Problem is there’s so many innumerate and even brain dead people in Britain and the west they have no idea of anything other than what they’re told or binary opinions.

If Cummings did propose structural reviews of defence spending HS2 etc. then he could have done a lot of good.

If he gets his story out, which will be very difficult, it will be quite a read.

I wouldn't like to gallivant down the path of casting aspersions as to the cerebral capacities of the populace but I suspect the brows of many are corrugated with perplexity on account of the 'Fog' of detailed and conflicting information and opinion.

Cummings is no more than an effective adman. He could run a great campaign selling you soap powder or, more appropriately in the age of Trump, snake oil.

Someone like him ought not to be anywhere near government. We don't need people selling us populist ideas. We need serious politicians consulting experts and deciding what the country needs, and not what the great unwashed can be convinced they want.

We need to ban "political advisers" forever. Let the parties employ such people if they want to design adverts or campaign slogans, but they should never get anywhere near to our elected representatives once they are elected. Democracy is important and it must triumph over these imposters.

You try discussing that with your "chums" this evening during your Zoom meeting and we'll see just how wise they really are. Judged on the level of intellect that I see from "arch-brexiteers" I am not too hopeful they will even understand the point, let alone agree with it

Some comments are not worthy of the 'Oxygen of publicity'.

All the 'Charges' from WE shall go unanswered.

I have no desire to descend to the depths of casting aspersions as to the cerebral capacities of those whose Brexit views are at variance with those of a different viewpoint.

I am looking forward to my 'Zoom' meeting with my 'Arch- Brexiteer' cronies.

The old Tony Blair ‘people are too stupid’ line. Throughout the political lifespan of Cummings the electorate heard both sides of the argument.

Nobody wants you to descend to anything. You could though rise to the challenge, rather than pretend it doesn't exist.

The picture that is created by your description of your Zoom meeting with your "cronies" is an unkind one. It reminds me of the witches in Macbeth chanting incarnations of destiny around a pot. Although in your case that will be a computer screen.

I am sure the witches enjoyed their black visions. I hope you do too.

It has nothing to do with us all being stupid.

It has everything to do with the way a representative democracy is intended to work. We delegate the decisions to our MPs. Not to faceless ad men who have the PM's ear.
