No I’m not implying that at all, I was explaining why players take the knee. Yes racism may be less of a problem than it has been but it is still a problem. People don’t really use the slave trade to illustrate the problem of racism it’s more these days the events that happen and the opinions that people have of ethnic minorities. Racism was called out under Obama but less large organisations were taking a stand against it. And it’s not all because a villain got arrested on camara, it’s because of the way he was handled despite not resisting arrest There are a hundred and one problems in the world, should we have futile, posturing gestures for all of them?

Whether footballers kneeling for five seconds is doing much to raise awareness is moot but I think any effect it does have would be increased if it was a sporadic event. When it happens before every game the meaning becomes more and more diluted.

It was originally done by Colin Kaepernick before NFL games during the playing of the national anthem when it’s traditional to stand and has greater symbolism in America than it does here. I think someone said on the joe Rogan experience podcast that it didn’t carry that much weight amongst Americans because by taking the knee it actually showed more respect for the anthem.

Two things really getting my goat on MOTD, this taking the knee which is getting ridiculous, and Shearer, with his “magnificent” he uses the word every bloody week, grates as much as the so called middle class idiots from the South East using the word “absolutely “ rant over

BLM and say no to racism are one and the same thing, they have the same empty gestures and its the same people pushing it, all that has happened is the goal posts have been moved slightly to try and keep everybody onside/quiet/catch people out. Seems weird that people want to separate the BLM org to the movement, again It is one and the same thing. I recently posted a reply on HLTCO's twitter page about kneeling and was set upon by hundreds of cultists/normies threatening violence against me, accusing me of being racist/banning me from Selhurst etc all for not backing a movement that actively hates me. XR, Antifa, BLM, forever family (who describe themselves as Socialist Anarchists) are all just different colour ink on the same piece paper
