The "Proven manager" is Roy Hodgson, who has been offered and agreed to a new contract and will be in situ next season. Edited by Willo (20 Jul 2020 9.35am) As you have responded to me in a previous post Willo, you know that I believe without the change of investors Roy will be in charge next year and I expect us to spend very little on transfers in the summer (probably a couple of free transfers and younger low cost signings). If investment can be found (which I doubt) I think SP will want to chase Dyche.

That's the spirit Willo say no to you youth development and keep with the same team of ageing senior players that are bored s***less with Roy's style of football (as are the rest of us). We've lost six so what if we lose eight? at least the yoot have been given a go, they might even give the oldies something to think about eh!

Bah. Roy, if you're reading, telling the first team that as they're playing like they are already on holiday you are going to be nice and give them a break. Tell them you're going to play the youngsters and they can do whatever they like - it's been a long old season and you and Ray are off down the pub. Edited by southnorwoodhill (20 Jul 2020 1.45pm)

It’s amazing how most of HOL and twitter no more about our youth players than Roy Hodgson
“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder |

You have to assume that these people are speaking from the experience of having watched our youth teams regularly and are experts in knowing when a young player is ready for the step up. Otherwise it could just be another thing to blame Hodgson for...surely not

It's no wonder the squad look demotivated. He's pretty much told them that they are just on the books to make up the numbers and have no future. Not even an oportunity to prove they could have a future. Players know if they are on the bench that they won't come on. they'll simply bit sat there to watch more senior players lose. Even when there's nothing to play for, and sub slots left to use, the manager won't give them a chance to prove to him he may have got the selection at tactics wrong. Or if the manager graciously gives them 8 minutes whilst the team are 4-0 down, then they will need to give him a bottle of wine. Senior players, don't really mind about not being selected if there is nothing to play for. A good manager would be able to explain a senior play why they aren't being selected. Whilst youth and findge players should be eager to come on and prove a point. We could have used these last few games as friendlies for a new manager to work out the players, formations, set peices, and match plans for next season. Instead, we are just going follow the Field Marshal Hauge tactic of repeating what isn't working with an insain idea that results might change. Sack this idiot. He should never have had a career in football.

Such comments are highly disrespectful towards an experienced football manager, who has managed for nigh on 44 years both at club and international level and has won titles and cups along the way.
