It was nice to hear Jonathan Van-Tam giving Cummings a blast at the Corona update, only bent politicians defend the rule breaker. It's not just bent politicians, it's c*nts who like to see c*nts getting away with it bcos it validates their status as c*nts. But no, you weren't making a fair point citing the medical officer, you were in an altered state to make these skunk-infused ramblings, it's a shame you weren't potty-trained at gunpoint and brought up in a redundant slum town then you'd see things as they really are.

Shrublands in the 70s was not exactly salubrious.

How on Earth can 'screeching' be construed as sexist? Even if it's just 'A weeny bit'? It's a sound. Cars do it, birds do it, heavy metal singers do it, etc. Or do you just disagree with the subject matter?

Indeed, massively! It’s what happens when you allow hysterical women air time.

An interesting post. I certainly agree that the future is far less stable. Open societies aren't designed for the modern media age and we are seeing their manipulation from all sides. Centralism won't work against identity tactics and the future is going to be more division not less. China and Russia are watching and waiting and this age is essentially a battle between authoritarian societies and democratic open ones....besides the US race riots it's currently peaceful between these systems (which we can only hope it remains so)....However, eventually one form of society will win out. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 Jun 2020 1.55pm) Yeah, I think this is right. Centrism offers nothing when it comes nationalism and culture wars. And if the Tories continue to use nationalism as a Trojan Horse with which to smuggle in and further their economic agenda, then Starmer's going to struggle. This idea, though, of a battle between democratic and authoritarian systems - how democratic are we? Every 5 years we get a choice between basically two parties. I mean, if you went to a restaurant and there were only two dishes on the menu, you'd walk out. But when it comes to how we're governed and how we live, that's all we get. And often they're not really that different. Healthy democracies, in which the people do genuinely feel empowered, wouldn't lead to the gilets jaunes movement in France or the current uprisings in the US or the consistently low voter turnouts in this country. This country isn't ruled by the people. It's ruled by the establishment. An oligarchy dressed up as a democracy.
