Let's face it: Social distancing will be with us for at least another 7 months AFAIK. Combine that with the fact that players are insisting on full pay while being idle. The one conclusion?
I pray I'm entirely wrong but I just cannot see a scenario where football (& Palace) can be what it was.

The tabloids are reporting that the PL clubs are in dispute it sounds like it's big versus little. The top 6 would like to end the season now with the title and European places and relegation based on current standings. Not surprising those in trouble at the bottom are not keen. To make rule changes I think the PL require more than a simple majority possible 3/4's in favour so it doesn't sound like the big boys will get their way.

I really can't see how this season could be anything other than declared null and void? Is the spirit of competition still there because of the circumstances? I wonder if any players would really want to turn out for their clubs irrespective of whether there are any crowds to watch them? Why not put it to the players, or that t***t at the PFA, first ... would they rather play as their contracts require them to or take a pay cut and stay safe at home?

Not take a pay cut and stay at home.

The upside is that Brighton might get relegated.

Man City are banned from the Champions league and with several clubs, including spurs in 8th, within 4 points below Man U in 5th, I’ll be surprised if Spurs want the season ending now. Thankfully we’re mid table so only have legal concerns.

Points per game is the fair way. Its 70% done so teams are likely to be where they are or close to where they are now. Exceptions have happened but they are exactly that. Then an asterix by the bin dippers title for ever more. Won by default.

The French have ended their season PSG have won the title and others have been relegated. It remains to be seen if those that feel they have missed out will now sue.
The Prem is global so much money involved in it which is why the TV money is so large spread out in the league. Govt here wont stop it so I expect the big names will win out and it will continue behind closed doors so they will meet contract agreements and the season will end.
