Government advice in the event that there is a widespread outbreak is to avoid public transport. Love to only some idiot that runs London has made it almost impossible for people to use their cars.

Anybody flying should check your flight status on a regular basis. I am 2 weeks away from flying to Singapore and Singapore airlines is now cancelling flights around that time although my flight is still on for the moment. BA and Easyjet have release press statement but they are all doing it so don't assume you are okay. Good luck. Would you go anyway?

I really love being British. China quarantines entire cities. South Korea has lorries disinfecting its streets. Italy puts whole regions on lockdown. Even the French are going to try to stop their silly kissing each other every time they meet. Britain? Wash your hands and sing Happy Birthday twice Something very Carry On Up The Kyber about it, continuing to have tiffin while all around is collapsing.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Personally not buying into the hysteria anymore for a virus which has a fatality rate of under 1% and that primarily 'kill's' those most likely to die in the next 6 months anyway. A tragedy for those impacted, without a doubt, and certainly worthy of taking seriously but this ain't the Spanish Flu or the Bubonic plague. And whilst there is a value in using it as a way of testing our national response given the threat that unknown viruses pose then no harm done but otherwise, all tomorrows chip paper. However, if it helps curb the ludicrous habit of us all hugging and kissing each other like continentals then some good might have come of it.

I don't know where you got your figures from but my understanding is that those most at risk are the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions but that doesn't mean that they were deemed likely to die within the next six months. I assume that fitting most people's description of elderly and having pre-existing medical conditions it is only natural that I have greater concerns than you do especially when my wife is a nurse in a major hospital and therefore more likely to come into contact with viruses than most

What the government won't be keen to tell us is that the real danger of a pandemic is that the virus could mutate into one that kills its victims rather than just proliferating through the spread of the infection. Let's hope this does not occur.
