If you use feet you stil have the variance of 13cm to 38cm in the system to deal with.
The better way would be to have it as offside only if there is daylight between the players.
Easier to spot and would stretch the game more.

At what point will daylight be seen? ..asked the ant.

2 games in 2 days, bet he doesn’t feel tickled pink more a pretty tired boy who gives his all every game. Mistakes happen when you are tired.

Players make mistakes, such is football.
Unfortunately the ball fell to Ings.
The goal gave them a real lift and we were indebted to Guaita who had another good game.
Overall a point at Southampton is a decent result.

Did Southampton make any?

..We were the only team today to make a mistake that led directly to a goal.

We seem intent on passing the ball around at the back needlessly until someone is forced into an error, we did it in the first half with Sakho almost gifting them! ...this s*** should not happen.

Exactly this - it's infuriating. We invite pressure on ourselves and get into a flap because we're closed down whilst fannying around with it at the back. Look at that passage of play - Jairo was running forwards with it towards the halfway line, then against the momentum of play, 2-3 passes later it was inside our box.

It's little surprise we get stung when we play like that. Same last match as I recall as well. We're just inviting pressure on ourselves.

...and please, let's get some depth in the squad to cover these injuries. It's not funny any more.

We can only really mention this when we are suffering with results due to these injuries because as of yet we really are not, our only recent defeat against Newcastle was totally self inflicted.

So proud of the club today as we wrap up 2019.
Listening to his post match interview we are fortunate to have such a wise and sensible manager in Roy.
The players have performed above and beyond in the circumstances.
Have to single out James Tomkins today, his performance was immense throughout and you could see his passion when he at last got the reward for all his dead ball forays.
Can't fail to mention Vicente, he is developing into a top Prem keeper. And don't forget Jairo, he really has stepped up.
Unfair on the others not mentioned, but well done to you all, including Martin Kelly.

A footnote:

For those that didn't see it...as the players came to applaud us at the end, Kells patted his chest and gestured a 'sorry' for his error.

And IMHO, the boys played well today but Roy missed the opportunity to replace Meyer and Jordan soon enough. Fine margins, crap ref, goodbye 2019, bring on the Norwich trip.

Our players should be and are capable of passing the ball at the back until a forward pass opportunity arises . The alternative of an aimless pass forward would just end up with another attack to defend .
Your right it shouldn't happen but unfortunately in sport it doesn't always go your own way . The secret is minimising your mistakes which we do very well

i havnt read this thread, as a)cant be arsed & b) it will be full of silly people looking for a scapegoat.

we are 9th, 28 points after 20 games...moan about that
and you are no proper palace fan.

not kellys faulf, not wilfs fault because his armpit hair was offside.

a point away is a point away. we are doing well, lets enjoy this point.

i will say however, macarthy & meyer starting makes us pass the ball forward better.
