Yes, Maguire was their AWB, they spent very wisely.

They spent nearly £100 mill in pre-season but sold Maguire for around £80 Mill so their net spend wasn't that much in PL terms.

The Leicester players just seemed happier... Smiling, joking and clearly enjoying their football. Not sure Zaha ever broke his sullen look all game.

I think this is the difference between Rodgers & Hodgson. One encourages a style of football that the players enjoy while the other plays a dull & uninspiring football that obviously the players don't enjoy.

Was away so unable to go.
Highlights don't show much to be fair.
We are however uninventive going forward.
We do not have a proper centre forward - Ayew is not the answer - just a bench warmer however hard he works.
McArthur, Kouyate and Luka all too similar.
Add silly errors in and so we will have our moments but will start to descend rather than go the other way.
Jamie Vardy has scored as many goals as our whole team which says it all.
Benteke and Wickham getting new contracts is criminal and with Ayew at best being a single figure striker we do have a real problem now in that department.
Roy is cautious but without a forward what more can be do.
We also need to replace Ward, PVA, Schlupp plus a striker - £100m perhaps and that is never going to happen!

Meyer has been a big disappointment. He lost the ball three or four times in the short time he was on the field. Brushed aside too easily.

Leicester are a good team (albeit an irritating one), I thought we more or less matched them until they scored but we never looked like getting back into it once they had.

Agree with this . Meyer was supposed to be the next big thing in Germany but unfortunately has flopped in English football though hes good enough to turn it round if he has the bottle
The first goal was always going to be the winner in this game and sadly for us we never looked like the team that was going to get it .

They are a decent side in a fine vein of form and it was always going to be a difficult game for us . Disappointed but we cant be too deflated and for those calling for more exciting football with this squad I would point to Stoke and Bolton whos fans were bored with premier league football .

As always hoping for a couple of signings in the next window that would make difficult games become winnable ones . COYP

In pre-season they signed Tielemans for £40 Mill (He had been on loan to them the previous season), Perez for £30 Mill,Praet for £19 Mill and Justin for £6 Mill.

Lets all be honest, Leicester are a class above us and we have a long way to go to get near them.

Everyone of their players is capable of passing the football 10 yards which every single one of our players struggles to do.

Yes, Rodgers style of football is a lot more enjoyable but do you really think that our players are capable of playing like that ?? Not a snow balls chance in hell.

We have 1 way of staying in this division and that is by keeping it tight at the back and hoping to nick a win.

PVA, Schlupp, Meyer, Benteke, Wickham are absolutley shocking and that's a quarter of our squad.

11 games into a season and Zaha hasnt scored a goal and this a man who think's he's good enough for a top team. Have a day off Wilf, you are at your correct level.

We are an average team in this division but well organised so we should pick up enough points for hopefully a top 10 finish.

WE simply do not enough good attacking players, if Townsend, Wilf and Ayew play we have a chance any one of them out and we have no back up, that needs to be addressed in the January window even if it is loans, a striker an winger minimum and we may stay top 10, if not a struggle for goals

But why the same line-up game after game? We play at home, have beaten Leicester on last 4 occasions - and so negative/boring the first half.
Improved after the break, but with their first goal it was "game over".
Watched the game on TV - how on earth is Schlupp entitled to be even in the squad? His positioning when opposition have the ball is simply non-existent.
There MUST be someone better....
Townsend we missed you big time.

And that will always be the issue with Hodgson. He’s a safe bet. He will get us over the line. However it’s frustrating to watch his team, especially at home. We just don’t have the creative minds to create opportunities. However again, the stats don’t always prove this theory, again we pretty much matched Leicester on the stats. Roy has a style of play and will not deter from that. The trusted midfielders he continually plays are all far too samey. Not one of them is fully attack minded and that’s Roy’s style. The players have to fit the mould. Luka has been poor for a while, Kouyate for all his hard work breaking down play has a nose bleed when he tries to go forward and Macca does a good job all round in fairness. Schlupp, I’m sorry I don’t get him and Roy’s opinion of him. The jury’s out with Max for me but why don’t we give him more of a run out? Camarasa is a mystery. I was excited when he joined a type of player we don’t have that creative on the ball and can score goals. Roy being Roy can’t accommodate him into his rigid game plan. I’m torn with Roy because he’s doing a job, but I just feel he could afford be a little more expansive. We’ve seen that Leicester games so many times with Roy. I’m not even sure transfers are the answer. Do we all really think that if we brought in any attacking players that Roy would actually play them? The subs, when he actually makes subs don’t make sense to me. Roy’s not in the least bit adaptable to a game, no matter who is in front of us - it’s the same over and over again. Like I said with Roy at the helm we are likely to have PL football again next season so you can’t knock him for that but when you have Parish coming out saying he wants to compete at the top end of the league (with no money I hasten to add) it’s laughable with Roy in charge

I agree with the general thrust of these comments.

Just adding that Leicester paid out near on £100 Mill in transfer fees in the summer whereas our expenditure, including the Camarasa loan deal, was not far off £6 Mill.

Agree with this.

My concern is how long can we continue going like this. It feels like we've been on the decline for an Age now, and we believe that our continued survival is proof enough that we have a good enough team to continue to do so.

RH is doing what he can, but it is like he is being suffocated. His post match interview on motd2 cut a very bleak picture, with the "We cant score goals with the players we've got" lines. He Seems resigned to simply making us hard to beat, and that's the best he can do.

For me, we need more players. We know we have little to spend, but that just means that those we do buy must be correct. We have spent money in those two years, but none, bar Cahill have had any time on the pitch for whatever reason. For Cahill to be our best signing in 2 years is pretty pathetic. All this while other clubs like Leicester and even Brighton are unearthing better players from the Arseend of nowhere and improving.

We have a good core squad. Only a couple of decent and correct players will make all the difference to us, and wil get us moving in the right direction. If we continue going as we are and buying benchwarmers, then one of the next few seasons will be a relegation season.
