Can I just ask why though? It’s not me being awkward I just genuinely wonder why you would put yourself in that position??

I agree that chanting his name at any football match is pointless and doesn’t need to be done but would it really warrant you putting yourself, potentially in harms way?

He makes a very good living through stirring up hatred against Muslims. Mostly paid from US sources. Singing his name can only be intended as an attack on any nearby Muslim

You wouldn’t do anything and if you did it would last a few seconds, if that.

I'm going to venture to suggest that the morons singing Robinson's name associate him with racism and that was behind their motivation to do it.

I wasn't there and obviously I don't know the people concerned so this is just my perception.

Mapletree writes that he would call them out for it - well that's what Derby Eagle did and he WAS there of course.

kennybrowns leftfoot - Deano, I understand why you are questioning why people would potentially put themselves in harms way, and I have to be honest, I don't think I would have done, but unless somebody does something then these idiots can carry on mis representing our football club.

They may do, and as only morons would sing TR at a Palace match or any football match and racists are usually morons. But this was sung at the back of block A or somewhere during the HF boycott last year. It didn’t get going or take off then and it didn’t on Sunday and won’t ever at Palace. I share some views on islam in Britain but I wouldn’t go around singing TR as it solves nothing.

Football crowds represent society. Unless it’s illegal people are within their rights to do or say anything. It was again sung by a small amount of people representing the amount in society who’d sing it. It’s been brought up by one person on here. Hardly a very loud and popular growing chant is it? Someone is horrified that he has had to hear a minority view in society.

This thread pointless.

As I have previously said politics should be kept out of football. I would hope that the crowd would just drown these people out by singing about our club.

Like most on here I wouldn’t support them chanting his name but on Amazon you can but t shirts of Stalin, Mao and Idi Amin among others . Why is chanting a name regarded as such a heinous crime while apparently endorsing a genocidal maniac is deemed acceptable?

this is a thread about tommy chants by palace fans, which have happened, and not about hypothetical corbyn chants, which haven't happened.

people's opinions on the two should be independent of each other, so lets keep this discussion focused on reality.

Edit: same goes for discussion of tshirts relating to other people/issues people might be concerned with.
raising these in a thread about tommy chants amounts to 'whataboutism', detracting from the conversation around something that actually happened that a large number of fans are very unhappy with.

Merely a comparison offered for discussion. Apologies if you are offended by it.

Maybe the fans were just trying to goad Wayne with right wing songs into doing one of his Heil Hitler salutes.

You don't know if there were any ,as yet unreported Corbyn chants , as much as, unless you were there, you don't know if there were any other chants.

If you were there and heard the chants then I bow to your superior knowledge.

If not then your comments on reality are meaningless. The comparison of what chants may be relevant is IMHI a fair discussion point.

I have no reason to either believe or disbelieve the original poster.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Neillo I get what you're trying to put across but in all honesty what can be done??... Chanting his name is not a criminal offence and the club banning anyone who does chant his name will leave themselves wide open to be sued...

I'm genuinely not a supporter of the man but will admit he has exposed certain things I agree with... He has, rightly or wrongly got an extremely large support so this type of behaviour shouldn't be a surprise.

Let's face it I can't imagine it was a particularly big section of fans doing it.. What it boils down to is people's threshold on being offended...

I think that people forget that unless it's a crime being offended is subjective... For what one person finds offensive the person next to them doesn't...

Being offended doesn't give anyone any certain rights but society has made people believe it has nowadays..

It's just a whinge really and nothing more..
