Policies that have come out of conference:

Green New Deal
4 day working week
Public pharmaceutical company
Abolishing Private Schools

Nationalisation of many of the utilities
Abolition of prescription charges
£10 minimum wage
and more and more and more

I like the way that if any pharmaceutical company wants too much for their medicines a Labour Government will manufacture a generic copy with Corbyn Pharmaceuticals Ltd

I presume that patents are meaningless to our Jezza

Yep, but if we 'no deal' they are fecked.

They trade most with us but stuck all their eggs in the EU basket. It will be interesting to see what happens on that score.

Will this pharmaceutical company also be investing millions and millions of pounds and years and years of research into developing new drugs - from scratch, on a 4 days week?

They are f***ed if they ever have to pay back the loans they have been given.
Country is on its arse forever taking handouts and yet nearly all my wifes family in Dublin have holiday homes abroad.
And before somebody asks for proof i actually know this cause they are family.

Quite co-incidentally I had a prescription review with my GP's pharmacist last night and she told me that pharma companies take out a patent when the potential product is little more than an idea and it can then take 20 years to develop it to a level where it is saleable which means that they only have five years in which to recover their costs until the patent expires.

This is already a standard procedure in Brazil, Argentina and India, where prohibitive pricings on essential medication can be subverted through an international law known as Crown Use. Essentially the patent owner is compensated, but at a much lower rate than the profit they would be making.

And don't forget that around 80% of the research that Big Pharma relies on come from state bodies. Corbyn has said he would threaten not to hand over that research if they don't comply. Although I'm sceptical as to how we can stop them, I also know what impact in can have on a family when they have to start paying for life-saving medicine. Big Pharma are some of the most amoral, money-driven murderous b@stards around and it's about time they were held to account.

Green new deal......Unless that means building nuclear no thanks....bills are too high as they are....lots of people are struggling as it is.

4 day working week......? Seriously? How on earth do they get enough tax from that? How are firms going to be competitive on a 4 day week?

Public pharmaceutical company......I see some sense in this.

Abolishing private schools......mixed feelings....strong arguments on both sides.

This is one of the biggest pieces of legislation brought before parliament in a generation, so it's worth reading up on. It's not simply about transitioning to a new energy source: it's a comprehensive plan to preserve local wildlife, incentivise companies to use recycled materials, prohibit the degradation of our food, and break up the financial interest groups that rely on oil money and dominate our economy.

Here's some extra info. [Link]

The last bit sounds like a plan to make us a lot poorer.

Oil makes the world economy work.....attacking that isn't sensible.
