Hodgson is a very good manager who we are lucky to have....but his strength is coaching and structure....other areas appear a bit lacking. While I think some criticisms are a bit OTT he is up for criticism like any manager because people can see that when it comes to first team selections he's very conservative and quite slow to react to obvious problems. He has to see that certain selections just aren't putting in full shifts out there and when it comes to the Premiership that's relegation material. Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Sep 2019 4.12pm)

It's like those ads for McDonalds - Always getting your money's worth? Roy plays Benteke at some point each week simply because not using something that costs £4.8 million a year sticks in his craw.

Hodgson being blamed on here just shows how clueless some fans are.

Please don't give this person another contract. What sort of money are we losing if he goes on a free anyway? Who on earth would want him as a giveaway, and pay his wages too?!

We were poor in the first half and let them have too much of the ball we fixed that in the second half and we were better we came out strong and our defender scored one of the luckiest goals I have every had the pleasure to witness ( that shot was 10 foot wide all day long)

Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Sep 2019 4.12pm) I think part of the issue with RH is if you offered him Zaha or Schlupp for example he would take the latter. Everything is structural, the problem is that I don’t think he knows how to coach attacking. Take Kane with England, or not picking Zaha then. Everything is “safety first” which is fine in itself but trying to It mirrors his England and Liverpool time. Great at coming in and stemming the flow, but no clue how to attack teams so reverts to what he knows. Problem is when sides have figured that out and you have weak links like PVA etc. Edited by robdave2k (22 Sep 2019 4.22pm)

I think its inevitable that Roy will get some stick. Setting up in the first half like we are playing man city away against a team 3rd from bottom without neves. Bringing on benteke when ayew was going through his best period of the match. Leaving schluup on, who goes missing, head down, never shows for it and does not help pva or show for him. They had no right back after ten men, surely zaha going to the left would have been a good idea. Townsend ayew and zaha running at a tired 2 man defence. Mccarthur being subbed off.

Did anyone else notice schlupp just stopped running with 15 mins to go? There was one point where you can see him watching the play from an offside position (by the goal) making no attempt at all to get back onside. I was screaming at him to run. His fault, but to be fair, Roy should have subbed him.
