That’s four games out of six this season where we have failed to score.
I didn’t expect us to win today but I would have liked us to compete.
Hodgson has one way of playing - 9 behind the ball , close the spaces and try and exploit opposition mistakes.
He’ll play Schlupp in central midfield when he has three genuine midfield players on the bench, seems to be trying to convert Townsend to play like a full back and ad likes Ayew up front because of his defensive qualities.
Hodgson won’t change and I accept I’m in a minority here wanting more tactical innovation and variation in games where we fall behind.

Or to put it more bluntly - old and stubborn.

It’s the Harry Kane taking corners for England. Everything is supposed to be functional.

Must be utter tedium to train under and indeed play under. Knowing that if you have got an ounce of forward thinking in your body it will be trained out of you.

Sorry should have said trained out of you for the 10 minutes you will get on the pitch in a defensive position.

Spurs scored from turnovers of the ball and our players being upfield and not behind the ball. Every time Spurs had space to play with they punished us.

I’m sure our players soon put the training tedium behind them when picking up their bonuses for points won and position in the table

That’s the entire point though.

Man calls you a horse - punch him in the face.

2nd man calls you a horse - call him an idiot

Third man calls you a horse - time to get fitted for a saddle.

RH’s first response to everything is defensive and to shoehorn in his favourites. Milo, Kouyate, Schlupp. Which one of them is going to put their foot on the ball?

Up ahead of them is Ayew, which as good as he has been he isn’t going to get much change from long balls.

That today gave Spurs nothing to think about.

And when out of interest was the last time RH changed our shape when things clearly weren’t working?

But the most depressing thing is that is probably how we will line up at home too.

Sorry but came up against a decent team and found wanting

Exposed in every part of the field,

Which is why some folks will always question both the manager and owners.

No it’s you that is wrong. 4-0 is totally unacceptable and deserves criticism. Probably is that so many on here just accept it and have short memories when we went to Man City and beat them last season. We should fear nobody. Look at Norwich tonight who were a side beset with injuries.

Why does it have to be a knee jerk reaction to a defeat?
As I’ve said it’s four goalless games out of 6 which is more of the same pattern under most of Hodgson’s tenure.
He can organise a defence (apart from today!), but not a purposeful attacking formation.
I think this bears scrutiny.

Agree. If that ratio is carried over the whole season we will be in trouble. Given that the two highest earners are not currently pulling their weight then things are not looking very clever. Still, there's always the transfer window...

Well beaten. Spurs first half got on a roll and played well.
We actually did open them up at times, but we move on and aim for 6 points next 2 games. We must go out and attack both these teams and play aggressively.
We write off today. It’s no disgrace to lose away to Spurs with the players they have.

The only positive is that it stayed 4 nil, I was worried about a cricket score. The just ran us ragged which there is no shame in because they are one of the top teams in Europe. Thank christ they took their foot off the gas second half.

Benteke should be put down, he is completely finished.

If we had any sort of composure or passing abilty we could have scored a couple today.

My thoughts completely - didn’t help that some of our players performed below par as well. Missed McCarthur with only Luka looking any good in midfield. Defence looked at sea as well with Sakho and Ward not looking 100%
