Whether highly expensive or cheap, but again, on large wages, please tell us why? Why did we then sign Sorloth for a total of £15 mil or near it? All the players mentioned we brought in on a gamble, some work some don't ..we cannot attract the finished article as you fully understand, add all the hype around each player and there you go we fall for them because we desperately want them to be successful.

You enjoy being negative so much that it must be difficult for you if something positive happens. You answered my "What did the Romans ever do for us" post by ignoring all the points I made about the good things which have been achieved since SP took over the Club. You went into yet another negative rant and now you are at it again. You must be gutted by the victory over Man Utd. Cheer up or take some happy pills for goodness sake. us Originally posted by Rudi Hedman

You haven’t answered my points. Parish costs a fortune because he doesn’t know what he’s doing, there’s no plan or joined up thinking and he surrounds himself with similar. No result today, however brilliant, changes that.

I think if you spoke to most fans of any club they could come up with similar numbers of failed transfers strange decisions on signing payers.Football is not an exact science so mistakes are made as ex Premiership teams languishing in the lower leagues have found out.

Ok, I knew that when I posted it but expected the point to be made, but how many signings have we made that we’ve made a profit on? Despite people hating that thought, it’s critical for most clubs to do it. And I mean while we’ve been in the premier for 6 years? Please don’t include Wilf, AWB or Bolasie for obvious reasons. This was our original transfer policy, now it is the complete opposite, if there is a policy seeing as most Summers we sign (mainly ageing) players that clubs want to shift on rather than us actually (really) wanting them. Even AWB Roy reluctantly played him because he had no choice. Remember his first game following his marker or the ball towards the centre circle? We need to start mixing up the targets and age of the squad. If Benteke is extended after another nondescript season at best then we’re not only extending Benteke but the problem too and my decision will probably have been made. I can easily come back or just lend out my ST. There’s another 8 months before then, so a lot can happen, or not, and it will be the same things again. Hopefully Roy and senior people are looking to evolve a few things but this Benteke extension concerns me. We’ll see.

To make a profit on players we have bought is not the be all and end all reason for buying them, the priority is to improve the team, and in some cases to try to avoid relegation, Sakho springs to mind.
