Isle of Sheppy, too much inbreeding over the years and full of pikeys.

I used to work with someone from Canterbury who called it the Isle of Cheffy (pronounced like one who cooks in a restaurant, with a y added).

I asked her to explain. She said that at her school 'cheffy' was one who lived on a council estate, as in "Oi! Council House Estate-Face!". As a working class son of a police constable and a 'dinner lady', I was torn between outrage and amusement.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Sorry Willo this wasn't aimed at you, just a dig at the OP's summary of Horsham

Didn't Chatham used to have a dockyard? Global warming eh!

London had dockyards too, but is nowhere near the sea.

Did a visit to Canterbury today, just the tourist bit around the cathedral all very nice no idea about the rest of it. We went through the Medway towns on the way, blimey if the people I saw at the stations at Gillingham and Chatham are a reflection of the population then I don't blame the train driver for putting his foot down or as Henry VIII would have said "don't spare the horses".

Croydon is proper sh@t these days. Can’t deny it. I live in the posh part nowadays with all the well to do Indians.

Still prefer the place over where you live though. Proper bunch of middle class c@nts.

Thanks! Lived in Thornton Heath/Croydon all my life until 1992, when I became a t**t and moved to Horsham as I did not want to raise my children in Croydon. By the way I don't have a company car or live in a Barrett Home, so presumably I am one of the deprived ones

Do agree with you on that point, especially for the younger generation.

Mate I’m just joking with you.

Looks a nice enough town. Don’t really know it truth be told.

No offence meant.

None taken. Town has changed over the years, ridiculous amount of over priced developments, local council who don't seem to care a jot about youngsters, loads of snobby rude pensioners and now they are planning on building an 12 storey high incinerator on green belt land.
Apart from that I like it here

Cheers
I kind of had to put a Horsham/middle England type town down when I did the original list otherwise it was going to just be poor places and that didn’t sit right (even though they generally are crap).
