7 points from the next 3 games should be enough to keep us up I reckon even 5 points would be enough anyway would be great

And Newcastle.
They play home to Burnley in midweek.

Except Newcastle winning kept the cloggers suppressed. Maybe a draw would have been better.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

7 from the next 3 would be monumental!

No reason now why we should not throw everything at the FA Cup. Every chance of another trip to Wembley...maybe two.

In the week we have the toughest game of all the relegation candidates.Other matches :

Southampton v Fulham
Leicester v Brighton
Cardiff v Everton
Huddersfield v Wolves
Newcastle v Burnley.

The gap between us and the bottom three might well be narrowed after these games.

Southampton have Man.U next though don't they at Trafford then they are home to Spurs away to weed and home to Liverpool not nice looking games for them really.

Gotta look at it in the round over runs of 3 to 5 games. 7 pts from Leicester, West Ham and Fulham is a great turnout and even if you stick Man U on the end and stay at 7 it is great. From United, Burnley, Brighton and Hudders you'd probably take 3 points, 6 is possible and if you are getting 7 you are doing very well.

TBH I think we need 2 more wins at that will be enough we are 6 points clear and with our goal difference counts as another point so 7 points clear of Southampton meaning they have to win 2 and draw 1 and Palace not pick up another point.

With Southampton next 6 games that is not going to happen.

For me we are 7 points from the bottom 3 and 6 points from 9th I am certainly looking up as opposed to down.

Unbeaten in 6 games have a pretty much full strength squad which now has depth so for me going to be a good end to the season.

With the bottom two on so few points, I think 17 place may require 42 points this season to stay up. I looked at the fixtures of the teams around us and I recon they all have 12-15 points in them.

Willo, you were very positive at the start of the season but you now appear to have reverted to type as per previous years. Not that I am complaining however as once you start suggesting we are going to get relegated we invariably finish with 40 plus points and a mid table finish. So, keep up with the negativity if you please.

With the greatest of respect, I really don't think that I have brought an air of negativity to HOL in respect of our prospects this season.

I think it is highly unlikely that we will plummet through that dreaded relegation trapdoor (Although possible) but I understand why you have urged me to post in negative terms given my appalling track record of prognostication !

In my post to which you refer I was merely stating that some of our relegation candidates have less challenging games in midweek and accordingly this could alter the relegation picture at the end of these matches but of course there are quite a few games to play after these ones and I remain cautiously optimistic that we will still be in the PL next season.

Think we will be safe by the time we play Man City.

We've only been convincingly beaten by Chelsea (back when they were good) and Brighton (oddly) and are 9th in the form table. Every other game has been close. Also now shown we can win with key players unavailable especially Zaha.

We should definitely go for the FA cup.

Before we play Watford in the cup we have 3 games. Realistic to expect 4/5 points from these games. Utd have injuries but will still be strong. A point would be great. Burnley are a strange one. They were probably the worst premier league team I have seen in years when they came to Selhurst before xmas. We are good away from home so no reason why we can't pick up another point. Then Brighton. It will be a close game, but one we can win.
We then have Huddersfield at home. 3 points from that and I think we will have enough. I can't see both Cardiff and Southamption getting more than 37 points from their remaining games.
