Either way Nantes apparently played no part in transporting him.

It has been said & i wish i had the link, that it was Sala himself who organised the flight, as the pilot wasnt allowed to carry fare paying pax. Now, make of yhat as you will.

Cardiff presumably had the funds to pay Nantes while the poor guy was still alive, so his death shouldn’t make any difference. Crazy comparison, but if Cardiff had sold him on the day after they bought him, they could hardly say to Nantes “you’ll have to wait until (club #3) have paid us before we can pay you.” Cardiff haven’t ‘lost’ £15m overnight; they’ve ‘lost’ £15m worth of future contributions to the team, which is what the insurance is all about. A final point to make is that Cardiff weren’t obliged to have insurance in place at all. Without a body, they would have to get a court to declare him so.

Cardiff are legally obliged to honour the payment terms they signed with Nantes.
