Really poor in possession, no ambition for 85 minutes. Generally awful. Wilf looked disinterested and isolated.

Chelsea are a very good side but we made it easy for them after they scored.

I don't think you can solely rely on beating the weaker teams because there aren't that many.

Doesn't matter who we play, the story is the same: defence looks pretty good, but not enough in attack.

When it takes 84 minutes into a game to actually provide any offensive play, you have to wonder what is going through Roys head... His subs are always so so late. Also, why doesn't he start Wickham for 45 instead of putting a forward on at 2/3s of the way through the game. Baffling.

Really poor not to have a proper go at them. Showed we could create pressure in the last ten minutes with the right personnel on the pitch but too little too late. With that much defending you're bound to make at least one mistake so consciously depriving ourselves of any kind of attacking threat until the last quarter of an hour was stupid.

Generally decent defensive display but pathetic tactics. Down to Hodgson, this one.

Still at least our GD isn't too badly damaged.

That’s because he is not a striker. He had 15 minutes out wide and looked better than he did in the first half.

Roy is probably thinking a bit about the fixture congestion with Meyer taking time to bed in and Wickham not fit yet. He was never going to give Wickham 60 mins.

well on the postive side 4 pts from 3 games. Not great but not dreadful. Remember we are Palace we have some great players and some well they do their best. Roy has a method tried and trusted. Sometimes it works so time it don't

Agree. Doubt whether Chelski will have an easier 3 points all season.

A dreadful, insipid display at home. I don't care about losing to Chelsea, that was always the likely result, the manner in which we've done it though is infuriating.

We set out to defend from the first minute as though we were nursing a narrow lead in the dying minutes and offered no threat the entire match until the last few minutes.

The Zaha up front experiment needs to stop with immediate effect. It absolutely negates the attacking threat of our best player and I am at a loss as to why he is persisting with it. Even if he doesn't rate our strikers, surely better to have one of them playing if only to get Zaha in his correct position?

Meyer offered more in 12 minutes than Schlupp did in 78 and needs to start the next match.

Wickham missed a good chance, just as he did against Cardiff, but at least he is getting in the positions. No surprise whatsoever that he is rusty and with more minutes he'll get sharper. IF he's fit enough he needs to start ASAP.

No point even talking about how late the substitutions came because it's like a broken record. The subs should have been made the second Kante scored, we might have nicked a draw if they had.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...
