He was great, but I think Townsend edges it for that goal. All over the pitch we were better though. There's something about playing the big teams that seems to galvanise us and get us focused ready for when we play lesser opposition. The commentator in the stream I watched said our build up play was the best he'd seen the PL this season. Mind you, he also said if we had a decent goal poacher they'd easily get 25 goals a season!! I said at the beginning of the season that with limited transfer activity Burnley may well struggle with Europe and the PL but they were truly awful today. I expected them to be physical but they weren't, which only served to highlight how limited they are technically. Unlike Leicester who used their success to invest in the squad Burnley seem to have done the opposite. It really would have not been unfair if we'd won this by even as much as 6 or 7 goals. They play Liverpool midweek. I love it when we play how we did today. And it’s why it’s so frustrating when we don’t get the ball down and play. People will obviously say we need a striker to start converting these chances. But we need to still play the football that will create those chances. No more target men. Sorloth/Benteke can be the plan B. Need a striker with pace, who can play and finish and we got the basis of a seriously decent first 11.

Good to watch, apart from the lack of finishing of course. Could easily have been five. Looking forward to the next 7 days

Imagine us with a young Kevin Phillips, or dougie, even aj I genuinely do believe if Wilf & Andros get a proper run. Against non top 6 teams. With Max in the RLC role. Playing how we did today. The goals will come.

One moan - I wish we weren't so static when we have a corner. But the width was great.

At last, a bit of width. Wilf is never a centre forward, should skinning the full back. A sweet victory!

One player who may not get so much recognition today was Kouyate. He was exceptional at dropping back to make up an extra body in the box and breaking forward to make an extra body in the opposing box. He also won countless headers and added muscle where needed. His passing is also looking better. A real box-to-box midfielder that perhaps we've been missing and someone who allows the likes of Meyer/Zaha/Townsend to focus on their job of finding the net.

Yes I think this match shows they’re getting used to ea huge other and no awful performances from Luka.
