He knows how to get the ball out-wide to the unmarked player which is useful when we don't have a target man central. Wayne generally kick a these out of play for throw-ins.

He has the crisper zip of his short distribution as well but perhaps the Continetal problem of not expecting a mad Englishman like Vardy pounding towards you whilst trying to take a goal kick.

I think City is the game for him. We almost certainly lose but if he plays a blinder and either earns us a point single-handedly (a miracle) or plays so well we only lose by 1 then he should be our Keeper.

If he hesitates on the ball with Sterling, Jesus and Sane pressing him then he will cost us goals and it will be clear Wayne goes back in for the winnable game against Cardiff.

Wouldn't it be terrible if Wayne gets the next 2 now just out of favouritism and he makes a mistake that means we lose to Cardiff. The fans would be calling for his blood again and Wayne's confidence goes back to square one.

The Times gave him a rating of just 5.

His contretemps with Vardy reminded me of Speroni's first game for Palace against Everton all those years back which didn't have such a happy ending.

Many refs other than Oliver (our best) wouldn't have given the foul.

Still, first PL game with a clean sheet and a memorable save augurs well for the future.

Just named in team of the week by Garth Crooks on the BBC site, along with Luka.

Wayne has earned the number one shirt this season. Roy bought Vicente in as he was poor in the early part of last season, but he has transformed his game. Could Vicente prove to be the better keeper? Possibly, but it is very unfair to say that if Wayne is back in goal next week it is because of favouritism.

Wayne cant catch a break, doesnt play one game and already calling for him tobe dropped permanently, since jan he has got better and better,if Wayne had done what vincente had done, the site would have gone in to melt down to drop him,i was in Jules corner when Wayne looked awful but he has done alot of work to his game,
So please stop asking for him to be dropped when he has done nothing wrong. and vincente not as good as you think from the games i have seen him in

Would of thought that was obvious as I highlighted a line regarding his rating in the Times.

Point is there are differing opinions on Guaita’s rating for that game as Crooks felt he was the best keeper in the league last weekend.

Top keeper, just needs to bollock those in front of him a bit more. Just look back at the amount of incredible saves he has made.

It's Kiraly v Speroni all over again.
You wouldn't believe the HoL would have ever trusted Jules after his first couple of apperances.

Seems the point went over your head.

Let’s see here, Guaita has played champions league for Valencia, and was one of the most sought after keepers in La Liga.

Wayne came from Wolves, and took over 70 games to find any kind of form or consistency. He is a bang average premier league keeper.

Do you listen to the Palace pods, PZ eagle? Do you know who Adam Sells is? How about the guys on BOTN? How about ex palace keeper John Burridge? None of them believe Hennessey is the long term answer and all agree we can do better, to a man.

Ask yourself this question, as you seem partisan to the point of a Trump supporter:

If Guaita came in, and turned out to be a better goalie for us than Wayne - making more saves, winning more games etc, would that make you unhappy?

If the answer is no, then why can’t you support Guaita having his chance to show what he can do?
