If these recent injuries to Wilf and Jules aren't just paper talk then the bare minimum of a goalie and 2 strikers that I thought we should of obtained could well come back to haunt us in the present set of games.

Of course this is a huge loss. I was trying to see how other players have contributed to our goals Games where Zaha has been been involved in our goals and crucial to winning points this season. Zaha has been directly involved in gaining around 13 of our 27 points. His importance in winning other 14 points is more indirect and therefore harder to measure and debatable.
Games where we have gained points without direct/significant involvement of Zaha Win Vs Southampton away (team effort for goals involving Townsend. Benteke, McArthur and Luka) We have to be optimistic and believe that the rest of our squad is capable of helping to pick up points. Benteke, Townsend, McArthur, Cabaye, Luka will all have to chip in with more goals and assists, that Lee shines in the same way as Sako did and we just hope Sorloth hits the ground running. Last, keep fingers crossed that Zaha comes back by early April for our crucial matches.

Last, keep fingers crossed that Zaha comes back by early April for our crucial matches. Pretty difficult piece of analysis to do, that. As well as contributing to goals he also tracks back a lot and made a couple of important defensive interventions on Sunday - on one of those occasions in the second half he was going like a train, so how he can have a goosed knee beats me - and plus which of course helps make sure that the ball spends a decent amount of time away from our goalmouth (although clearly Sakho was a big part of the difference between the first and second halves in that department). Then again of course it isn't as if we'll be playing with ten men and we will still have someone on that wing, albeit a less prodigious talent. We may find out that Wilf's fundamental importance to us is to some extent in our players' heads. We may also find out that he's in desparate need of a rest, although that will do us little good if he doesn't come back. Edited by chateauferret (06 Feb 2018 6.35pm)

so is he offically out? couldnt be from the game as he was bang at it 2nd half & seemed to run off that early challenge well. and those saying lets try PVA, please...were best trying a kid, or actually the nasri on a free shout seems very good idea.

I don't think it'll be popular with many of our supporters, but I rather like the idea of Nasri joining Palace. but particularly now that Zaha is injured. Anyone know what went wrong at the Turkish club that he recently left by mutual consent? Edited by Diagonal (06 Feb 2018 6.46pm)

Surely Nasri will be another one that’s going to need 3/4 weeks to get ready with a lack of football! Step forward Rakip your time has come!

Is he even injured? The Sun seem to be the first to print this dribble and all the other media just printed their own version of dribble. I wouldn't panic just yet.

It was the Guardian that reported the injury picked up by other papers. The Sun and other papers saying anything from 4 to 8 weeks is speculative. Who knows the scan may be precautionary
