Perhaps for you it was, foreskins can be tight..so on and so forth...America has its cultural preference...you being an adult, this isn't even a debate. That's got nothing to do with infant male circumcision. No one should be cutting off healthy parts of infants. That's a decision for them as an adult. As for women and healthy breast removal......As an adult, that's between them and their doctor.
Female circumcision has no medical benefits, but also is no more (or less) painful if done as a child or an adult. A parent can choose to prevent future disease and/or pain and suffering in their son's future by circumcising them; this is not the case for daughters. Unless you want to remove a parent's right to make medical decisions for their children... Edited by Ray in Houston (10 Oct 2017 5.47pm)

Yep. Probably better than TB mind. Correct. But no one consulted me on whether I was cool with the pain and permanent disfigurement for this helpful medical procedure. I was just done to me without my consent and without anesthetic. Barbarism! Edited by Ray in Houston (10 Oct 2017 5.45pm)

Barbarism! Edited by Ray in Houston (10 Oct 2017 5.45pm) I think, with the way you treat these two different situations, I have proven my point. In my view you are fine with cultural unfairness and what you see as equality is in reality no better than unfair versions that existed in the past and in some cases still today......You just have different prejudices. I could go onto many other examples but it would just turn into a version of this debate right here. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Oct 2017 6.07pm)

The cutting off of "healthy" parts if done so to prevent future medical issues is an entirely valid tactic. Getting circumcised prior to puberty avoids a significant amount of pain and suffering, and is a far more simple procedure (I had to have a full anesthetic, which itself has risks). Edited by Ray in Houston (10 Oct 2017 5.47pm) These are genuinely terrible opinions. Once again, the use of anesthetic on babies is risky. Over a hundred circumcision deaths occur in the US every year. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Oct 2017 5.58pm)

I never said it had to be done as a baby. I have said that it should not be allowed as a religious choice (but that's hard to police) and it should not be allowed to be performed by untrained, non-medical types. It's a valid medical procedure, just like vaccination and breast removal. Maybe not prevention of maladies as obviously and directly serious as what those other procedures treat, but what's not serious to you may be very serious to someone else. You want to draw a line in the sand here when it's not your choice to make. It's between the patient, their doctor and - if it's a child - their parent(s).

Stage 3) We call to arms and, hopefully, be joined by hundreds of fellow naked from the waist down sympathisers - Widdecombe is banned for obvious reasons. She might think we meant her and not Josh. Too risky.

Too risky. Josh can only join for six and a half months a year....on account of him only just qualifying as an actual male. If we are going to handcuff ourselves to the railings it has to be near some wi-fi....As I insist on taking my new tablet......it's a new kind of nerdy alpha.
