And that could well be why we've decided to appoint Hodgson first (if indeed we have).

I think it's a poor decision. FdB wasn't given sufficient time, 4 games, come on! Look at what he had to work with. We don't have 11 premiership quality players in this squad, for which I lay the blame at the board. Don't care what manager replaces FdB, we will continue to struggle until better signings are made. At least Sahko is a start, but the depth in this squad is so poor and that's putting it mildly. What if we're pointless after 8 games, who takes the blame then ?

Despite the loss yesterday, I was actually beginning to believe in FDB and our future (mainly as I class patience as a virtue). Well done SP for being an absolutely clueless muppet who is ruining our club. Freedman, Pulis and Sam events were all out of his control. This one was the chance for us to become the club he/we wanted. He has lost my support completely now and if we get Woy so might Palace. God, I'm so hacked off.

yes I heard this also, That's terrible, he was never given a chance.

So much for the long term project. I wish FdB well.

I'm hearing news that Chung-Yong Lee has also left the club today, after being decapitated by FDB

Agree with the sacking, although Parish's comments on Twitter last night will now contribute to him looking like a moron.

The issue is not the sacking, but the replacement. How on earth can Parish think Hodgson is the man to save us given how completely out of touch with the modern game he proved to be during his stint as England manager?

Worrying times ahead.

This obviously has to be more than the results. FDB may well be a complete twonk.

Shame we didn't sound out Dyche but hopefully Hodgson will keep us up for 2 years and we can get it right next time.

As I just posted on another thread, Sky are reporting that the decision was made very late last night after Harris and Blitzer discussed the situation with Parish

I'm gobsmacked. He changed to a back four, which almost everyone agreed was needed and we definitely played better. His mistake yesterday was including Lee in the first place (which turned out to be a bigger disaster than I expected when I saw the team sheet) and not playing Milivojevic. Also he can't be held responsible for Benteke and Dann missing sitters like that. I really thought that he'd get at least until the next international break (i.e. 'til after Man U or possibly 'til after W Ham even). I can't see the sense of how we're handling this unless we were worried that Hodgson would join a fellow struggler in the near future, closing off our apparently favoured option.

Putting the mistake to one side, it's not that he picked Lee, it's that he played him on the left and Townsend on the right. What was our problem in the 2nd half v Swansea? Ward at LB and lack of supply in the box. Same cr&ppy supply yesterday. Dozens of crosses, about 3 successful.

you could say puncheon on the left but he's hardly getting much praise or PVA and Schlupp but PVA's been shyte this season, although as a LWB.

Well old dithering Steve has really put his dithering days behind him. Pardew could have punched him in the face on live TV and still kept his job way too long, but now we fire a manager after 4 games. What can you say other than the people running the club, in particular Parish, are absolutely destroying our chances at establishing ourselves as a well oiled and fully stable club. I really, really wish Steve Parish would find a way to get out of this mess he is making running this club, he hasn't got a clue what he is doing. The transfer window, and now this, it's just evidence that he is totally clueless.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

That's my reading of it. Parish didn't sound like he was ready to sack going by his tweets.
