Not sure whether this has been answered elsewhere, but

1). What is stopping us signing Loic Remy on a free?
2). Taking a loan from a foreign team?

Genuine questions so thanks in advance for responses

Loic Remy was not a free agent before the transfer window closed in England and, even if we wanted to, we couldn't sign him. In any event he is joining Las Palmas, as the Spanish window closes a day later.

We cannot take loans from anywhere once the window closes, we can only sign free agents, who were released prior to the window deadline, and only then if we leave a space in the 25 today.

Turning round and finding that the Niasse transfer hadn't gone through after the paperwork had ostensibly gone in was certainly pretty stunning.

Reports suggest agent fee wasn't agreed and that's why that form didn't go in and Parish wouldn't be held to ransom. But I suspect from your post you knew that.

I wasn't assigning blame; we all know that agents are disgusting parasites who would sell their own grandmothers for a quick buck; although that is an excellent reason for not doing all of your transfers in the last hour of the window.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is looking for a new agent after this.

Lots of talk he'll be off to Turkey now as their transfer window is still open.

If the window is still open in Turkey can't we go after Tosun instead? Cost about the same and it was reported that he was keen on joining Palace.

Very well said! Not sure Delaney is a premier level player anymore but otherwise you are spot on!

Yeah but I think the issue might be that agents also want their players to hold on as long as possible before signing so they can shop them around more.

I mean why sign before the transfer window if you think you can get a better deal.

Scored more than Fraizer Campbell. Lets let that settle in. Our centre back outscored our first choice striker.

According to the Times, it was Everton who messed the player around and who would not pay a fee to his representative despite the fact that it was he who had arranged everything.

"Everton had refused to countenance paying his representatives earlier in the day when their good relationship with Palace had resulted in the deal being brokered in the first place.

And it is understood Palace officials became increasingly exasperated during negotiations having submitted a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline to the Premier League which allowed them two additional hours to submit the finished paperwork."

So as frustrating and poor as this window has been, that does not seem to be the club's fault.

nice info, thanks

Thanks for the info. That obviously leaves us fairly well f***ed if Tekkers gets injured. I was being an optimist and hopping that we could sign Remy or El Hadadi(?)
