Looks like Spurs are now his preferred destination. Sounds like the kind of player that would love to jump on a bandwagon but isn't interested in actually making it happen. Had he joined us and actually turned up, would we be bottom? Probably not. Edited by chateauferret (07 Nov 2017 12.04am)

Forget this guy, with his previous goal scoring he'll look elsewhere if he's to leave present clubin January.

Who really wants a player with that attitude. All of a sudden he thinks he's Billy Big Bollards because he's banged in a couple of goals. He obviously likes bench warming because if he goes to Spurs, that's what he will be doing unless of course Spurs are looking to offload a few in the window. (we'll take Son if they don't want him).

Looks like Spurs are now his preferred destination. Yeah but is that actually what he said.... that's how it's being reported but I read it slightly different. More along the lines of he was gutted the move broke down but that in hindsight it's not the end of the world. As he's now scoring goals in the champions league. Who would be sad about that??? The article is clearly click bait. If you link through to the Turkish interview and then translate that you get a fairly different view of what he was saying. Babylon translation: 'Crystal Palace is so good returned to the post and transfer' 'Too large numbers commissioners. It was very proud to be so. Our interest in this job for me i am very pleased to be remembered. Crystal Palace'la name is is remembered. But he returned to the A-pillar Returned to the post and also good so. Where the mold leagues and Champions League'i in good working order. So basically did he even say what's being 'quoted' Don't believe everything you read. Is he happy he's banging goals in in the champions league? Yes. Is he going to stay at Besiktas like he says he would for years and years. I very much doubt it. Has he slated Crystal Palace... not at all.

As those now thinking this guy has and attitude. Pfft! Transfer fell through and yet he just bounced back with the best form of his life. Seems like a guy with fantastic attitude if you ask me.

You are assuming of course that you are correct in your interpretation of what he said. If he did in fact say he was glad he didn't sign for Palace because it would have been a career disaster for him, would you say the same thing about his attitude?

As a palace fan I might feel like he said nasty things about my club and feel hard done by... but probably not. Fact is he wanted to come here, the deal feel through and he bounced back with four goals in the champions league while we sit bottom of the premiership. Which side of that coin is better for your career? And saying so is such a bad thing? Or only when you read the twisted versions on click bait. Look his dream move to the Prem fell through and he dug deep and made himself even better. That I'm afraid is only the sign of a strong attitude and self belief. I doubt any of us unless we're Turkish will really understand the manner in which he said the words. That's the thing with language. Stuff gets LOST in translation. But from what he does on a football pitch. Seems like he has a great attitude. Don't you think? Edited by Goldfiinger (08 Nov 2017 6.51pm)

Edited by Goldfiinger (08 Nov 2017 6.51pm) Whilst I would say that I would be annoyed if he did have that attitude, in retrospect and having read as many of the articles that I can find on it, it appears that this has stemmed from one article with a jaundiced opinion. As you say, click bait and as is usual with all modern journalism, other media sources just copy it and put their twist on it. So I agree with you that the conversation he had should not paint him in the light the media seem to want to portray ie: as another Palace basher.

I just registered that site to clear interview situation. First of all, he said many things. Some of them are: - He finds 150 million Euro meme hilarious. (In Turkey, when a player performs really well, some hard fans be like "he worths 150 million Euro" and meme around it) I will sentence by sentence translate what he said about Crystal Palace: Premier League is the best league in the world. They play high tempo and strength based football there. At the beginning of the season, high numbers were mentioned. I got proud of it. I have been mentioned a lot in England press. That made me really happy. Crystal Palace transfer was off the post. I'm glad that it did. I prayed for the best outcome. I did a lot here this season. (Translator note: So he's happy that transfer didn't happen because he did a lot in Besiktas this season) When it's the time and our president let me go, I would like to play in Europe. Premier League or La Liga, they are huge. When I'm done here, I want to represent Turkey as good as I can abroad. My current goal is to make Besiktas league champion here again. If President tell me to "Stay", I will stay here for years to come, if he tells me "Go", i will go if the club is making money. As a Turkish, I can tell he's the best player in Turkey especially when it comes to attitude. He trains a lot, he's an ideal family man and definitely is not and will not be spoiled.
