Why do they need to demonstrate against Isis? Many on the left (and indeed across the political spectrum - well nearly all) attended vigils after recent terrorist attacks.

Because ISIS are fascists? I thought the left didn't like fascists much - or is it just white fascists?

Says it all about you.
You lefties are as blinkered as the NF ever were. The only difference is that they had the excuse of being as thick as pig s***.

Forty years ago, wow, where does time go. I remember there old HQ down Pawsons Road, we would throw stones at the shutters on the way to school , all kinds of weirdos staying in there . They seem to have left the area around the time of the Terry May murder, can never remember them being anywhere near Palace at the time, surprised because other clubs were seen as ripe for recruitment.
Ran into them again in the summer of 80/81 in The Bedford Park in Streatham, I was seeing a barmaid in there , so was in there quite a bit. A complete load of tosspots, most of the hierarchy were perverted old leeches ,

When I went to college to learn (and fail) to become a car mechanic, our tutor lived next door to the NF HQ in Pawsons Road. He used to tell tales of finding skinheads glue sniffing in his garden.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

There was also a connection with the Wilton Arms as they used to have a meeting or two in it and there had been a few racist attacks in the area hence why the pub got seriously done that night. I don't know if any of the Wilton Palace mob were N F but as you say there was no sign of the N F at Selhurst.

Terry May RIP

Was drinking in the "Jolly Farmers" in Ladywell when it all kicked off.
My brother and I went up to Lewisham High Street to watch.
Coming from Belfast (where we knew how to riot)we laughed our boll*cks off at the feeble excuse for a punch up we were witnessing!

Technically ultra-conservative - but that's a minor point - How exactly and against who do you demonstrate and where, when protesting against the existence of IS.

Seems a bit futile to me (even by protesting standards)

I can't believe they didn't get a kicking on Remembrance Day. I don't condone violence generally but that was testing my resolve.

I don't really support demonstrations of any kind. But if you were to demonstrate against Islamic extremism you could do it at mosques that preach support of extremist Islam and with counter-demonstrations at Islamic demonstrations held to support extremist Islam. You could also demonstrate by the various stalls set up in the likes of Birmingham when I last visited that peddle Islamic extremist literature. Mind you the police would no doubt arrest such demonstrators for some hate crime or other against Muslims if you did.

This is where I was coming from. It's a common thing to be anti Isis, the government and security forces are doing a fair job so the public have no beef with them on the issue.

Have there been any pro Isis demonstrations in the UK to counter demonstrate against?

Several, a big one in London in December 2016 of over 1,000 'believers'.
This idea that the left are itching to demonstrate against extremist Islam but can't think of the means of doing it is ludicrous. Do they sit around in their committees sighing, "If only we could think of a way to demonstrate our opposition to extremist Islam".
