He did not break in the team, he was undeniable second choice and only played against Manure because of the suspension of Nick Viergever. Originally posted by Oliver
He was a regular starter for Ajax in FDB's last season until he broke his leg. Last season he broke into the Ajax first team in the second half of the season and was a starter against Manure in the Europa League Cup final

Guess we will soon find out. Used to play a lot in central defense in a defense that plays a very high line with lots of space behind and was barely ever under pressure and compared to the PL physically untested. Different ball game to being a CB with us however I would think that that would be why FdB has in mind considering the options we already have on the left. . Originally posted by laddo

I read in Dutch publication that Jairo Riedewald will be the only player that de Boer targets from Ajax this summer.

I am sure he would want a few more(Sanchez, Dolberg en Ziyech come to mind) but don't think any of those are realistic. Originally posted by Dan89
