It isn't ideal but if it means we don't end up in 3 years time with ageing players and no resale value then it's a better alternative. Clubs like us have to sell to stay in this league and getting that wrong will see us relegated, I guarantee it. So maybe you need to have a think about that. Once we have a squad of over 20 quality players and close to 25 I bet managers won't be in such a hurry to leave after bonus day. Until then the big names know they will at some point get a club that has lots of quality players to do their job and not just 15. Take a break.

If the rumors are true about Sam then Parish must leave the club. Apparently it's because Delaney and Hennessey were given new contracts behind Sam's back. Similar to when Parish told Pulis is which players he could and couldn't sign regardless of price. His job isn't to manage the team, once an owner starts that they need to piss off. We've lost the only two real premier league managers we've ever had because of him.

Well well well, all very Palace and all very HOL. Very Palace to find ourselves yet again with a manager walking out in the close season. Very HOL for reactions which beer from the bizarre to the bonkers. Has he simply walked? Quite possibly. His wife stayed up north (shades of Dowie here.) But he was 6 months into a 2 1 year contract so I assume if he has retired he will not see that paid off. He has also at least gone at a time we can appoint someone else and they can put their stamp on things. I would not want to see another Warnock style panic appointment. I think you've nailed it; they're all p*ssed!

Too much panic talk on this forum. The season has only just finished, we have the best management team in control of the club we have ever had, we have just guaranteed our longest stint in the premier league and we have players on our books that would grace teams a lot higher up the table than we finished. Now is the time to take stock of our position and select a manager that is going to be the best fit for our club. We are in the premier league ffs, that alone will guarantee getting quality names applying for the job. Parish knows what he is doing and regardless of what anyone says on here he has financially managed the club far better than anyone has previously and he absolutely wants the best for us. I would only criticise him if he goes down the route of an old man appointment like Moyes, Ranieri or Hodgson. There was a reason why Sam was employed and that was to get us out the s***e. Now is the opportunity to get someone in who sees it as maybe a 5 year job rather than 5 minutes.

LOOOOOOOOL Average tenure for PL managers now is less than 18 months. This isn't just a Palace problem. Take Wenger out of the equation and it will be around the year mark.

Don't start me on the Americans who don't even know where selhurst park is. The problem isn't that you are pissed off, you are a paying fan and deserve your say. The problem is that you are criticising the only constant that has taken us from the verge of bankruptcy to our longest ever stint in the premier league. The issue in my opinion isn't with the chairman, its with the unrealistic expectations of fans given the size of our club and of the maverick style managers that we have had to appoint to save us from relegation. If Parish's decisions are protecting us from financial insecurity then they are the right decisions - 130k a week and a 3 year deal to Defoe is utter madness (if accurate) and in my opinion (and ye its a guess) is more likely to have driven Sam's decision than a couple of contracts given that he publicly said that he wanted to sign Defoe.
