I was referring to your 'freedoms' comment. You like freedoms, except freedom of movement, fair enough.

Helping other humans shouldn't be a left / right issue. I think we should do whatever we can to help those fleeing war terror or persecution, not build walls and shut them out. You don't it would seem.
Our views are entrenched and neither of us is going to change each others minds.

I've nothing against helping genuine refugees. General 'free movement' of people, ie: chaotic, uncontrolled immigration, is bad for the receiving country and the country being left.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

Sounds fair to me. Public ownership of national assets is a lot more patriotic than allowing French, Chinese etc etc firms run them for profit.

That sounds a bit racist?

What is wrong with the French, Chinese etc etc?

And you regularly accuse Hrolf of racism... even mocking him with your "Blackman" joke on the Marine A thread.

Are we now seeing your true colours?

Was it you and your friends at the bus stop in Croydon Friday night?

It's only common courtesy when asked to back up an assertion to respond n'est pas?

After all, you are the king of requests of this nature by insisting a link is provided to substantiate an assertion (and only one acceptable within your margins of tolerance, ie no Daily Mail, Sun etc links).

However it seems that when the boot is on the other foot, you can't be arsed to comply.

AND THAT IS WHY I RARELY ENGAGE DIRECTLY WITH YOU.

I'm sure you're a nice bloke, family man etc, but as far as your politics goes you don't play fair and try to grind everybody down by constantly regurgitating your version of the truth.

I don't know what you are getting your knickers in a twist for.

Hrolf posted I'm still waiting.
I haven't got a clue what he's waiting for! Thefinal solution?

As for your 'friends with people who put someone in hospital because they're an asylum seeker' jibe...

Unless I'm much mistaken, Nick, he's still waiting for you to express your feelings about islam. You've dodged it pretty successfully with some impressive obfuscation thus far.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Did you really expect a forthright answer from comrade Gusset?

He is probably outside tending his flowers so he can put them in the gun barrels of returning IS fighters when they come 'home'.

Really I must have missed that.
My feelings about islam... A peaceful religion with over a billion peaceful followers worldwide.

Unfortunately like all religions, some factions use a radical interpretation of their holy book to further their own warped ideology.

I've met many Muslims through work or politics and can say they're no worse or better than any other people I've met. One of my best TA's was a Muslim bloke.

When I've visited Muslim countries / areas I or my family have never had a problem.

When I took a class to a mosque in woolwich the imam was very open and answered lots of questions from the kids, however difficult. Made a lovely cuppa too, which is an essential British Value in my book.

I used to frequent Whitechapel a lot. Loads of Muslims there. I didn't feel like it was a no go area.

I think religion is bonkers. However I don't automatically translate that as being all followers of a religion are bonkers.

I wonder what Hrolf thinks of Islam.

That didn't hurt did it.

I think of Islam what I think of all religions.
Deluded and dangerous.

Timothy 4:3-4

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
