Does this mean if we stay up we don't get an option to buy ? Source - SSN........Jurgen Klopp has been talking about Mamadou Sakho's future after his Deadline Day move to Crystal Palace. The defender is on loan with Palace until the end of the season, but Klopp has not ruled out a Liverpool return. “This is not place for me to give advice to Mamadou,” he said. “Who knows what will change in five months? He still has a contract at Liverpool.

Can't see anything in your post that implies it

We will have an option to buy, just like every other club in the world will. All Klopp did was to try to protect his investment, he is saying that he would take him back, just so nobody thinks they are going to get Sakho for cheap. That is all.

A loan deal with an option to buy is a great solution for Palace, but no way would Palace get him on the cheap

There are loan deals with a formalised option to buy within the loan contract, often at an agreed price. It would appear that we don't have such a contractual option. Of course we can put in an offer in the next window, like any other club.

I've had this paranoid thought that, although cleared, the drugs test thing is really why Klopp took against Sakho.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

The post was that we don't have an option to buy at the end of the loan, and the link was to an interview with Klopp. The reference being that Liverpool would not now consider selling Sakho at the end of the loan. The interview with Klopp said nothing of the sort, and seemed to be non-committal on Sakho's future. Given that Liverpool would not accept less than £20 million, it would seem that this would have been the option to buy figure. Since we all felt that £20 million was an exorbitant figure, I do hope that when Sakho comes in and nails it, we don't end up with a load of muppets saying that we should have signed up to an option to buy. Especially since this was an 11th hour signing and the to and fro to add in these sorts of clauses would no doubt have made it impossible to complete in the time. There was no interest at £20 million, so if we decide to offer £20 million at some point then I am pretty sure we will get him.

Any team paying 20 million for a center back is in the wrong. No central defender is worth that much money. Zapata from Milan, Nkoulou from Lyon, Mbemba from Newcastle, Zambrano from Einthracht are all available for fees between 0,5 and 5 million. Also, Caceres and Papadopoulous were available for free this window. The Greek has just put on a wonderful performance against his former team Leverkusen and scored the winning goal for struggling Hamburg in the Bundesliga in his first match. Buying Sakho for 20 million is just silly, even for Premier League prices.
