I am confused. Is the point here that there are better options in the Premiership? Or that there are better options at Palace? It seems to me that he is the best of what is available at the moment. Certainly he is trading up going from Sunderland who are bottom of the table to Palace who are two places above. And who have some chance of getting out of it versus virtually zero.

It's the bloke at the meeting at work who rubbishes everyone else's suggestions, but when asked for one of his own, says it's not my job to come up with ideas.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I do find it astonishing how we seem to have so many posters on these boards who *obviously* know so much more than people who live, sleep and breathe the game and have done for many years. We seem to have a surfeit of experts who are so, so much better at managing a club than the people who are actually doing it. I just don't understand why Parish and Allardyce don't just put their feet up, log on to the HOL, crack open a few tins and follow all the sage advice offered here, free, gratis and for nothing. We'll be Champions League in no time.

The trouble with having all these HOL experts is that some people take their pronouncements at face valus with well read media like Daily Mail publishing an article today headed "CRYSTAL PALACE IN CRISIS: What's going wrong at Selhurst Park" quoting someone on this very forum who said "Yesterday's defeat all but resigned us to the Championship. All of the players will then leave and League One will follow soon after. It's been great but the party is finally over"

My mate's a Sunderland fan, has never rated him. I go off opinions on someone who watches his team regularly as he's better qualified than a fan on a Palace forum. Has your mate ever managed or coached a Premier team? I prefer the experience of a man who has signed him before and prepared to sign him again.

We'll be Champions League in no time. They'd be so much better off camping out in their gran's basement playing Football Manager. Then they'd know who is available, what price, etc. They could even set up a second player to sell players who don't want to move. Just like real life...
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |
