Mis-timed, clumsy challenges have resulted in many broken legs and career threatening injuries over the years. Whilst I don't believe that was close to happening in this case, the challenge still hit Benteke at knee level which shows Gomez had no control over it. That warrents a yellow card, let alone him being the last man. For Clattenburg, he made less mistakes than usual but how he is judged to be the best ref in the world is a mystery to me, almost everyone I speak to from various fan bases don't rate him. I expect nothing less from the wonders of FIFA though. Similar to when Wales were ranked 7th or 8th on the world. Was nice to have but everyone knew it was a crock of s***.

Nathan Redmond just been sent off against Spurs for not attempting to play the ball and penalty awarded. Funny, don't recall Gomez trying to play the ball either. Obviously different interpretation of the rules by a different referee.

If he didn't give a red card for this tackle he'll never give one for the tackle on Benteke. To not even give a yellow card to Gomes is frankly ridiculous, almost like he forgot.

He didn't even give a free kick for that t*** Ireland trying to break Cabaye's leg last season - an injury he carried for weeks after & coincided with a drop in form. Attachment: IMG_0165.JPG (40.79Kb)
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

I'm not going to speculate into the minutiae of the 'Forensic' analysis. All I will assert is that the referee's explanation will be taken into consideration as will his view from his angle. At the end of the day the referee doesn't see incidents that we see on TV from umpteen angles. So for all your "I know loads of top senior referees" you have NEVER asked any of them what happens to them if it's proved that they made " wrong" decisions in a game?

Its incongruous that someone lauded as "the best referee in the world" could make so many fundamental mistakes to the detriment of a particular team. This cannot be explained away by "a rare error" or even incompetence. In business such instances would lead to suspension and an independent investigation.

On the basis that you are ridiculously accusing me of being a "Wind-Up merchant" and of risibly introducing Trolley into the fore, I am NOT minded to answer any of your questions. Those who know me personally might accuse me of being a number of things but would strenously deny the allegations that have been made.It really is a shame that there has been no HOL function where I could have attended and all and sundry would have seen that I am just a supporter who expresses his honest opinions.
