Mancini would be the ambitious appointment.
Rowett the clever one
Big Sam the 'short fix' one.

Looks like SP and US investors have gone for the 'short fix' option. Sad that we wont be moving forward any time soon

Sums it up for me. I think Mancini would be a forward step and allow us to continue to play decent football but he'll be much more savvy with the game plan.
Big dodgey Sam would be a backward step football wise.

under big sam i guess we will stagnate. Can you imagine if pulls had actually stayed with us for a few seasons, how boring that would have got? Parish saying that we are turning back the dial away from expansive football makes me sad, its basically him saying that we are admitting defeat and becoming a more basic side.

Rowett is the clever appointment. Its a punt but he looks a good manager and would defiantly freshen things up a bit. I do genuinely recon he'd have to go some to get us relegated with our team, and the players always put a good run on when a new manager comes in. all thought I could be proven wrong....

Im sure we will stay safe and appoint sam. Dull, but safe

2003/2004 - 6th
2004/2005 - 8th
2005/2006 - 7th

Big Sam's record with Bolton in the Premiership before the club started having financial problems.

If you have a moment look at that Bolton team for those years. Very similar to the makeup of the Palace team today.

He is the ideal fit for us at this time

First match 5th October 1974 - not a good day!

If Sam is appointed it IMO will be a good move. He will arrive with a decent side which needs guidance especially at the back. I guess funds will be made available to him to improve the current squad. His premier League record is good and (god forbid) if we did get relegated he would be my choice to get us back quickly. Having said all this if Mancini was interested this could be very interesting as well. But all in all IMO SP has done the right thing for the club as AP was without doubt struggling badly.

You have missed out
Blackburn
Newcastle
West Ham

All of which he was sack by.

No need to be selective!

Oxymoron in bold if ever I saw one.

And in your final sentence you have concluded with common sense, 'Im sure we will stay safe and appoint sam. Dull, but safe.'

I would rather stay in this league and grow the club than go down as one of the 2 dozen teams who frequented the prem for a bit but are unlikely to get back.

Are you aware of:

the main stand built in 1924 and a joke?
Arfur stand built in 1969 and inadequate room at the back?
A lack of scouting?
Poor training facilties compared to other clubs?

If you want to risk that to see us pass the ball across the back 4 to increase possession and get the oppo all set as we did under the fool then wishful thinking.

I don't know how long you've supported Palace but going with your idea you're risking prolonging the disappointment by another decade multiplied by x.

Have you looked at the football WBA are playing under Pulis and their Premiership league position (8th).

I love Premiership football if that means Big Fat Sam bring it on.

True. Tactics Tim. I think his days in management are over.

I still think this from parish pretty much nails it on for moon face pint 'o wine.

...with club chairman Steve Parish saying Pardew's "expansive style of football hasn't worked".

"Now we're going to wind the dial back the other way," Parish told BBC Sport.

He was party to it as well, hopefully that does not mean that we are not going to get those three quality players (minimum we need!) we need in this window if we are to stand any chance of staying up!

I take your point but I'm sure a back-up striker and a left back is all we need. There's nothing wrong with the players we have, they're more than capable of being a mid-table side, they just need better coaching and guidance.
