Lets just have a bit of balance. Great... we've won two games on the bounce and look more solid as a team. But please.... no more threads comparing this squad with the 1990 squad OR calling for the head of Parish/Pardew if we lose the next two. We are a club that is in transition financially and in ability to compete at the highest level, our future should be rosy but it's not guaranteed.

I'd rather be an inconsistent mid table team, than a consistent poor team. Yeah we had a poor run the 2nd half of last season but we massively over achieved in the first half, that with injuries and low expectations there was never really any preassure on the team or manager. Especially with a cup run and reaching the fa cup final. With the exception of a handful of games we was hardly played off the park.

I Think people attending a football match, have the right to express their opinions, as the game pan's out. However, you will always get the pre-tanked group that probably run their 'LOCAL PUB TEAM' Who arrive with a 'GAME PLAN' and think they could do better than the TOP MEN running a club.

I'd say it's perfectly possible to be consistently mediocre and therefore always finish in a mediocre position, arguably mid-table.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

But of a strange post. Start off by saying anyone should have an opinion, then slag off people that do. Most fans know the team they would pick and how they should play, and when the manager doesn't agree, moans about it. Isn't that all part of being a fan?

Okay so we want consistent mediocrity. I really hope we don't go on a five game winning spree now, I will be the first to start a pardew out thread.

All I'd say to this Rudi is that since when have we ever been able to beat the teams we 'should' be? More often than not our points come from the unexpected such as away at Liverpool and Everton as opposed to home vs Bournemouth of Burnley. The fact we've picked up 6 points against 2 sides lower than us may show that we're starting to mature as a squad and club...being able to deal with the pressure that comes with being the 'favourite' in a match (?) As such its still a relatively new phenomenon for fans to beat teams we're expected to and still sits uncomfortably I guess. Boro were higher than us when we beat them not lower, and they were still higher than us when we beat them. My point before was that everyone now thinks Stoke are crap, and looked like crap. But perhaps they looked bad because we got our tactics right. And they are at the bottom because they had lost to the Top 3 teams in the league. I don't feel sorry for them (especially for the Stoke fans who were looking forward to Palace). But after 15 games I would not be shocked if they are back midtable. I don't think people are planning a parade. But it seems like for many, when we lose it's "Pardew's Gotta Go" and when we win, it was just because the other teams were crap. We won big, and we won at home, with good tactics on show. That's something to celebrate.

The best post I've read was that pardew got lucky with cabaye getting injured and Jedinak getting sold therefore forcing him into selecting McArthur and Ledley. That was from rudy, our very own hol football genius/manager/chairman. And then says he has no agenda against pardew haha
