Ok here's the deal people.

We have scored the 6th highest amount of goals in the league this season.

That's amazing!

But we've let in the 3rd most of goals at the other end.

Personally I'd say it's the latter we need to sort first.

Yes if Benteke gets injured we need to find goals from elsewhere but let's be far Benteke hasn't scored all 29 of our goals.

So I say again it really is the defence we should be worried about.

I can not understand the necessity to spend our limited resources on goals when we're the sixth most efficient goal machine already.

Agreed that the defence needs addressing - we urgently need a left back for starters.

I also think we need a defensive midfield player - part of our problems have stemmed from the lack of a midfield ' enforcer ' - part of Pardew's ' expansive ' legacy.

But we also need a forward because if Benteke gets injured, we are screwed.

I'd like to see him coach Wickham... That would be a great role for him.

This is the main reason I was gutted he left.

By all accounts he wanted game time rather than coaching. But maybe now he'd consider it

No point - we had that sort of striker in Gayley (now absolutely ripping it up in championship). Never got used properly. Our style requires a big burley target man. Murray was perfect, although getting on a bit.

On target again tonight, plus an assist to shoot the south coast mob to the top of the Championship.

I make that his 21st league goal of the campaign.

Can some of the deniers just consider that maybe it was not a great decision to let Glenn go when you consider we had to endure the toiling Wickham and then the insult that was Adebayor.

The fact we then had to splurge another £30m to try and get someone in of Glenn's effectiveness says it all.

If he scores against us next season I will applaud him.

Even screaming girls at Bieber concerts are less fanatical about their crush than you. It's quite sweet though.

He probably won't play next season or if he does, it'll be until the January transfer window or they get relegated.

It was a mistake to get rid of him when we did, but by the time he's in the prem he'll be 2 years older and slower. And what is your £30 mil Benteke point? We needed a top top striker at some point, or is your idea that Murray never retires into his 70s so we never have to spend the money to get one?

You're sort of right on the Adebayor point. Money used on him ate into a lot of Murray's £4 mil fee, although we didn't have Murray to pay him his £30k ish, but had Bumfockoff instead to pay.

Wickham's problem is he's injured.

The problems stem from Pardew not having the nous to implement the plan or even have one after an important decision, not that the decision was made. Our new manager would hopefully weigh it all up before acting the big I am.

Scored the opener tonight, helping fire the south coast mob to the top of the Championship with a 2-1 away win at QPR.

Also named man of the match.

Not bad eh?

Still a great decision to bomb him out?

He's playing for the best team in the championship against some truly poor defences. Brighton will go out and buy a new forward in thd summer and he'll spend most of next season on the bench. Done great but won't cut it in the premiership.
