Played for wba 2day and scored twice, if the reports we true surely wba would of withdrawn the player in case of injury

If we were getting the Berahino of a couple of seasons ago then £20mn is a reasonable price and was what I remember being quoted at the time. Since then he's hardly played and ran a year of his contract, which should outweigh the inflation in the transfer market, so maybe nearer £15mn is a better price now. I like Gayle and was disappointed we sold him, but there's no denying that Berahino is a better player. Gayle + £5-8mn would seem a decent price so long as we're convinced Berahino can get back to his best.

He looks slight but he is actually about 5,11 I think I remember seeing somewhere. That's a few inches more than Gayle and he is a few years younger! I'd be happy with Berahino but not as an alternate to Benteke but as well as. I think we need a big player, even if it was someone like Bony that would be great but as long as we don't have to rely on absolute drivel (Campbell and Bamford) if we are short

None of the 'rumours' say we have actually made a bid....so I think its more likely to be just paper talk.In any case many of us (me included) are far from convinced he's worth a punt. Benteke is a much more obvious type of striker in terms of lone striker...so I guess we are going to as usual wait and see....

Berahino is a class player, can't belive people are turning their nose up at signing him, is he a better fit for us than Benteke, probably not. Just don't judge him under Pulis. Was either isolated up top on his own, with the rest of his team playing so deep, on the bench or out of position, they alwats played rondon as their no9 last season.

Berahino is better than Gayle. If we were to go 442 then I'd say he'd be a good purchase if we got a bony or Benteke. If not then I can see a Gayle situation again when long balls go over his head and he gets frustrated. Nah, I don't reckon he is.

Problem being that even with the addition of Townsend, he'll also be isolated up top. We need a big target man. Him AND Benteke would be incredible however!

Have you seen Campbell play? 4 goals in 20 appearances in his first season for us. Just shows how people's opinions can be warped. After that season, no-one thought he was good enough (fair), but now we're supposedly looking at spending £20m on a bloke who last season scored as many goals in twice as many games. And WBA and us don't play that differently from one another. Unless there's a massive shift in the way we play, he'd spend just as much time up top by himself. Not saying Berahino couldn't do a job, but £20m is an awful lot.

Benteke & Berahino = Dreamteam With Zaha Bolasie & Townsend behind them. The opposition would just s*** themselves 🔴🔵
