Not sure how or why Saudi funded terrorism and exported extreme warped religious ideology is being blatantly ignored by some when it is obvious that they are the snake's head.

Oil? Other agendas?

We normally take on fascists who threaten us but this lot no one will touch.

Its not all Saudi, they have many problems over there and are on full scale alert in Jeddah and Riyadh. They have a full scale problem in Yemen, with terrorists. And have been bombed in Riyadh.

Maybe we should look at Iran a lot closer.

Its not Iran stirring this lot up,its wahhhabi/salafist stuff and they see Shia's (of which Iran is the lading power in the M East region),as an enemy.

Saudi and other Gulf states have a lot to answer for, notwithstanding that the royal family there can be at risk if the genie gets out of control there having been let too much out of the bottle. The sooner people look closely at Saudi-backed organisations like the World Muslim League exporting this pernicious salafist ideology worldwide into muslim communities, the better.

I'm not disputing what you say,all I can say is what I know, about the Saudis that I know, they are not at all on the terrorist side of the fence.

What do you suggest I say to the muslim kids in my class and their parents? Seem to be lovely families, as far from terrorism as you can imagine.

It's more what they say to you.

When they've all said how awful it was and how they condemn the actions of a minority of lunatics who have absolutely nothing to do with them, report back Monday evening and that will likely shut a few people on here up rather than your assurances over the families.

I'm by no means silence = complicity but I'd be screaming out to defend my faith in the same way anti-war Westeners take to the streets and in fact are permanently present outside Parliament.

I'll have a word with the head of the primary school I work in and ask if he can get the muslim children in the school to come to the front in assembly and condemn the atrocities.

You should be ashamed of typing that nick.

Why? JF said that they should all come forward and condemn the atrocities. A response heard many times.

Muslims are condemning the attacks. [Link]

But, and let's be honest, it's not really reported in mainstream media is it?

Edited by nickgusset (14 Nov 2015 12.07pm)

I would certainly expect older kids to be pushing that message and leaders should encourage them to do so.

Religion seems quite inflexible in the way it focuses on its tenets. If peace is one of them then at times like this, whatever else you stand for, it should be pushed to one side for a while. As an atheist it may be an unreasonable suggestion that they should overcompensate in response to actions of maniacs but right now we'd have greater harmony if people were out in force presenting beliefs that make the Buddhists look violent.

Now being reported that one of the dead CNUTS had a syrian passport on him......If true then maybe we should have heeded the warning that IS woud be amongst the syrian refugees.

Perhaps Corbyn will tell us that the French Police should have done more to spare their lives and bring them to court..

Yes, bringing them to court would be the civilised way, now dead they become yet more martyrs

And as they blew themselves up what should the police have done?

I believe you are the moron.

Jonny.... you're not helping mate.

Try to keep your posts less antagonistic and focus on suggesting possible solutions like some are trying to do.

I was actually replying to a previous comment the chap made. There's a context.

Nonetheless, you are highlighting some important topics on here. Well done.

I have been listening to the radio this morning and among the numerous views put forward I reckon these two to make most sense to me.
1. You let vipers into the nest and you should not be surprised if they bite you on the bum.
2. Well-intentioned immigrants enter Europe in the hope of a better life with jobs, houses and social welfare. The reality soon dawns on them and many turn to petty crime in order to make ends meet, with the consequence that they get a prison sentence. The step to radicalism is then a short one.

All I can say is God help Europe, and watch out Germany.

Not sure how they would have carried Kalashnikovs and explosives halfway across Europe but wouldn't be surprised if they saw the refugee crisis as an opportunity and took it.

4% of the Muslim pop are strict Salafists who would be applauding last night as it would have been carried out by them and it fits in with their belief system. A significant number.

Take the fight to them by, literally, all means but let's leave the other 96% alone to live their lives. They have done nothing wrong. They are not part of that group.

If what you say is true Michael, then I would agree with you.

Unfortunately people don't always tell the truth.

Take Jihadi John as an example... on last night's news there was a recording of him denying being a terrorist or anything remotely associated with jihadist tendencies some few years ago.

I would advocate increased surveillance on all muslim groups until proven that they are indeed totally innocent of compliance with this terror campaign.

The Shias we should be courting and making alliances with as they hate the extremists as much as we do and are in more danger from them. Enemy's enemy and all that.

I know I keep banging on about Saudi government and religious schools but they are our enemy's friend. So why are we friends with them? Perplexing.

That would be foolhardy. That mantra (of my enemy's enemy) is completely without context. The Shias (Iranian Republican Guard, Hizb'Allah, et al) were admittedly the first groups to conduct attacks/massacres of this nature - the US & French Marine Barrack attacks in Lebanon, the Israeli Embassy and Jewish Nursing Home attacks in Buenos Aires, Burgas, etc.

There should be no collusion with them whatsoever.

Well we had to talk to the terrorist Stern Gang once they were in power, and the Shias have never bombed the UK population and want these Sunni extremist dead too. We have something in common which means we may be able to/should do business together. If we are serious about taking them on that is.
