Its simple to sort out our illegal immigrant problem, send them all to Poland, which is empty, cos they are all over here....

Keep the immigrants coming in. Just don't expect British culture to survive, and don't expect British people to be happy about it. Because it's wrong.

Global free market capitalism = everyone will be, aptly, costa coffee coloured and culture diluted in 150 years and they will look back and wonder why their ancestors got their knickers in such a twist about such things.

This true. I have already contributed a mixed race child to the gene pool so I am quite happy with the idea. Your wider point causes me to wonder how our distant descendants will make any sense of how and why it happened when we can't even agree on it now.

I should have added '.....capitalism and the conflicts associated with...'

Yes, indeed. Been reading about fear for the future social conflicts from the 19th and early 20th century here and afar recently - Catholics and protestants in Liverpool for example - and the peeps involved back then with their woebetides now just seem like histrionic wet-knickered types. We seem to have survived their foreboding.

And when the time comes from humanity to be the next in line for extinction nature will cope with that massive loss too. She'll probably have a millennia long party, in fact.

I think the world's diversity of culture peaked a long time ago and integration has been happening for many centuries now.

Don't really understand what all the fuss is about now. It's not like we are in some horrific war or are starving here. If we were then I don't think the thought of a couple of million migrants coming here would seem so scary for some.

I have noticed that it is only immigrants in France at Calais that are breaking down fences, boarding trains, running through the tunnel and breaking into cars and Lorries that are in the public eye. This is not happening in Germany or Hungary. I wonder why....could it be that we pay ANYONE who enters a pile of cash and give them a house and free healthcare which in turn brings the whole countries services to a critical state as it is now.....not to mention once some are in they bring their whole family tribe in????

they already get those benefits in france, germany and hungary. they aren't lining up in calais b/c of benefits. it's b/c they can speak english and have a much better prospect for work and education.

Really and you know this how?
Yes they can come over and get 4/5 an hour work....But what does that do,nothing apart from keep the wages low for the people here already looking for jobs/housing/education/healthcare.

i know this because i'm able to read the news and listen to their interviews where they tell people these things instead of coming up with the answer in my head, completely devoid of any evidence or logic.

why do you think people are there? now remember, they get the same or better benefits in calais. it's just a few miles away. they aren't going to starve there. now, why is it that people would potentially risk their lives if it isn't for food, $, shelter? AND here's another piece of the puzzle to help you: they CAN NOT speak french but they CAN speak english. what say you to this incredibly challenging puzzle?

And you chose to completely ignore the main part of my post about low wages....Surprise surprise.

Then sort out the low wages...

And how are you going to that Nick.
Pay everyone wonderful wages even if the business can't afford to.
Now I happen to agree that wages need to rise, and there are many companies that are paying below living wages for their own purpose.
But not every one that owns and runs a business are criminal and many can not afford to pay higher wages.

If they can't afford to pay the higher wages as you put it, why employ anyone you can't afford to pay a living wage, I bleeding well wouldn't.

So you agree with slavery?

It may not be wholly irrelevant that we are an island making illegal entry far harder than into a country such as Hungary or Germany which have lengthy land borders.Lengthy land borders make it possible and not too difficult to try and slip across at numerous points fairly easily. The Channel tunnel/Calais is a magnet for a minority of those trying to enter illegally in Europe trying to slip onto a vehicle/train to get into here precisely because of our lack of a land border with continental Europe,so people concentrate in one spot.

Regardless of anyone's views on immigration, its not logical to infer from events in Calais that we are the number one preferred destination in Europe or that its because of our "benefits".Some posters also continue to overlook that overall welfare benefits are better in France and Germany than here.

No I do not agree with slavery, did I say that ? If I couldn't afford to employ someone and give them a decent living wage I would not employ them, simple. As I did when I had me own business I got the work done myself. It worked ok for me, I still got me work done just took a bit longer.

Kermit's "analysis" get more and more desperate. First he starts with, "I don't actually have an immigration policy, but uncontrolled immigration is clearly highly beneficial" - so no doubt he thinks we should have more and remove the flimsy controls that we do have. Next he states that immigration is "inevitable" - you know it just sort of happens and you can do nothing about it. Now he is saying we won't know the difference in 150 years time because we will all be mixed race - just like it is in the USA I guess? I expect his next sage comment will be that "it will all turn out alright in the end" - probably Dr. Frankenstein's words as he threw the switch.

For goodness sake man what has happened to your humanitarian compassion...

I really think I need to have words with myself, that is just wrong in so many ways.

Kermy only speaks for a minority of people....like the rest of the open door immigration supporters on here.

75 percent in England want reduced immigration....Hell even in Scotland.....It's 58 percent.....That's even with their far left nationalists in charge dibbling out their anti Ukip waffle.

They don't even represent the real views of the Scottish on the issue......God forbid what the numbers would be if more foreigners actually wanted to live in Scotland.
